This research took 32 teachers from six kindergartens in Nanjing as the survey objects.Semi-structured interviews and physical analysis methods were mainly used to explore how teachers exert their autonomy. The author analyzed the factors that affect the autonomy of kindergarten teachers' professional development, and then constructed strategies to enhance it.First of all, this research conducted a generic analysis of kindergarten teachers' understanding and thinking and found that teachers believe that autonomy includes:serious and responsible, clear goals, focus on reflection, and active learning.Teachers' professional development autonomy is manifested as follows: pursuing their professional development in a highly responsible spirit, planning their future development direction and putting them into practice, learning actively to update educational concepts and improve educational practice, and improving their professional quality and ability in reflective practice.Secondly, this study explored the factors that affect the autonomy of kindergarten teachers' professional development from two aspects of individual internal and external environment.Individual internal factors included awareness of active learning and development, development motivation, personal planning ability, critical reflection ability, physical and mental quality, time and energy, key events, and key figures.External environmental factors include family environment, class environment, kindergarten environment, and macro management system. Finally, this research provided suggestions for kindergarten teachers to improve their professional development autonomy.Suggestions for teachers include:establishing the awareness of active learning and development, shifting from "technical skilled" to "reflective practitioner",using the "four quadrant" rule to manage time scientifically, and integrating curriculum reform with self-development.Suggestions for kindergartens include: providing a supportive environment, giving platforms and opportunities, carrying out effective communication, and implementing developmental evaluations.
