With the advent of globalisation and increasingly fierce international competition,all countries are aware that future international competition is in fact a competition for talent,and that the key to cultivating competitive talent lies in building a high-quality,highly qualified teaching force.As the first and most important stage in the professionalisation of teachers,pre-service teacher training has become the focus of teacher education reform in all countries.As the origin of teacher education and one of the traditional powerhouses of teacher education,France has never stopped reforming pre-service teacher training and has been actively exploring an integrated and highlevel teacher training model based on comprehensive universities,constantly improving the pre-service teacher training system and improving the quality of teaching force.In 2013,in the context of the national reform of basic education entitled "Rebuilding the Republic's Schools",the école Supérieure du Professorat et de l'Education(ESPE)was created,replacing the Institut Universitaire de la Formation des Métiers(IUFM),as the sole official institution for the training and preparation of teachers at all levels,from kindergarten to high school.The MEEF Diploma was established,and the three key areas of reform were the training objectives,the training curriculum and the quality assurance strategies,further deepening the professionalization and masterisation reform of teacher education.The thesis aims to conduct a systematic study on the reform of the French ESPE pre-service teacher training model through literature analysis,comparative method and case study method,and then summarise its reform experience,with a view to providing reference for the current reform of pre-service teacher training in China.This thesis is divided into five main chapters.The introductory section mainly describes the reasons for the selection of the topic,the definition of the concept,the research overview and the research methodology.Chapter 1 compares the main stages of the development of pre-service teacher training in France from a historical perspective.Chapter 2 analyses the background of the reform of the ESPE pre-service teacher training model and its necessity from three aspects: the promotion of teacher education reform in the new century,the needs of the development of basic education and the accentuation of the crisis of the teaching profession in France.Chapter 3 analyses the content of the reform of ESPE pre-service teacher training model from three aspects: training objectives,training curriculum and quality assurance strategies.Chapter 4 summarises the effectiveness of the reform of the ESPE pre-service teacher training model and its characteristics and finally on the basis of reflecting on the current situation of pre-service teacher training in China,proposes suggestions for the reform of China's pre-service teacher training system in three areas: raising the level of preservice teacher training,improving the quality of educational internships and strengthening the link between teacher recruitment examinations and pre-service teacher training.
