In recent years, the problem of poor connection between domestic middle school education and university education has become more and more obvious. In view of the current situation that there is a gap between high school education and university education in China, and there is a lack of diversified and effective training and selection mechanism for high school talents, the China Institute of education,a unit directly under the Ministry of education, has jointly organized and implemented the China University prerequisite course project with many well-known universities,first-class high schools and educational research service institutions in China. The project has been listed as a special entrusted project for Social Science Research of the Ministry of education, with Project No.14jf002.I have been teaching in the International Department of Bashu middle school since I graduated from university in 2015.With the continuous in-depth understanding of the American high school curriculum system,I deeply believe that learning from the Chinese general election prerequisite curriculum developed by the American University prerequisite curriculum system is conducive to promoting the reform of Chinese Middle School teaching and enhancing the effective connection between middle school and university. In particular,it has created a training path that does not completely depend on traditional education for high-quality students in domestic high-level middle schools. As far as American AP courses are concerned, after nearly 70 years of development, teaching materials have not only formed a pattern of multiple types and versions, but also developed a series of supporting teaching auxiliary books and network resources.Domestic university prerequisite courses have just started, and the curriculum preparation and textbook research and development are also in the exploratory practice stage. The available prerequisite course textbooks are extremely scarce, and the lack of textbooks seriously restricts the development and further promotion of prerequisite courses in China. Therefore,it is valuable to study and analyze the comparison between American high-level middle school and University prerequisite courses and China’s existing courses, which can quickly absorb the experience and advantages of foreign excellent teaching materials, and provide suggestions for improvement and enrichment of University prerequisite course teaching materials in China. This paper takes probability theory in mathematical statistics, published by China Higher Education Press and edited by Professor Ye Jun of Tsinghua University, and the practice of Statistics(Fifth Edition),edited by Daren s.Starnes, chairman of the American ASA / NCTM Joint Committee,as the research object. The specific research questions are as follows: ⑴ What are the similarities and differences between the basic knowledge requirements of the two countries’ teaching materials and the impact of the two countries’ teaching materials on the learning of follow-up courses;⑵Compare which textbook compilation method is more conducive to the teaching of the prerequisite course statistics ⑶ compare which textbook compilation method is more conducive to Chinese students’ learning and application.Through comparative analysis, the following conclusions are drawn: ⑴ The fundamental difference between the basic knowledge requirements of Chinese and American textbooks lies in whether they require the basis of calculus.⑵ The Chinese version is conducive to students’ subsequent learning of mathematics, and the American version is conducive to students’ subsequent application of statistical knowledge.⑶The Chinese version focuses on the transformation of students’ thinking mode from certainty to randomness, while the American version tries to build students’ ability to collect, sort out and infer big data.⑷ The Chinese version is more suitable for teachers’ teaching for high-quality students in high-level middle schools, but the American version can be used for reference to introduce graphic calculators.⑸The American textbook is more applicable to students.According to the research conclusions, the following suggestions are put forward for improving the Chinese version of the University prerequisite statistic textbook: ⑴The contents of "experiment design" and "data exploration" should be added to the textbook compilation;⑵Enrich the column style of teaching materials;(3)strengthen the combination of statistics and information technology.
