Since September 1,2017,the unified compiled Chinese textbooks for junior high school have been put into use.84 ancient Chinese poems are adopted in the junior middle school Chinese textbook.The ancient poetry have irreplaceable values of language organization,literature aesthetics and cultural heritage.The situation of current education of ancient poetry in junior middle school is that students generally lack of life experience,cultural accumulation,cognitive level and logical thinking.Without awareness of the complicated background of each poetry,their understanding is usually superficial.Although it is possible to understand the literal meaning of the poems,it is difficult to have a dialogue with the poet and really enter the mood of the poetry.Therefore,Chinese teachers have been exploring the effective teaching strategies of ancient poetry teaching in practice.The ancient poetry section of unified compiled Chinese textbooks is different from the previous textbooks in terms of the content of the selected text,the division of the class type and the arrangement mode.The change of the textbook,from the perspective of the teachers,means the change of "what to teach" and "how to teach".Soon after the publication of the unified compiled textbook,the research on the teaching of ancient poetry has just begun.There are limited number of papers discussing the teaching strategy of poetry in the unified textbook,and there is often a lack of specific method guidance that can be implemented,and a lack of case study that can be followed by.In the questionnaire survey of junior middle school Chinese teachers in Kunming City,Yunnan Province,only 9.82% of the teachers who are “being adaptable to the organization of ancient poetry section,understanding the layout intention of the new textbook,and completing the ancient poetry teaching with high quality”.Therefore,the purpose of this paper is to discuss how to understand and make good use of the newly complied textbooks so as to provide the possibility for the practical implementation of teaching ancient poetry in an operable,effective and meaningful way.In the first part,this paper clarifies the goals of ancient poetry teaching in junior middle school Chinese textbook.Firstly,it is important and urgent for spreading excellent classical culture.Secondly,the teaching is followed by the goals in Compulsory Education Chinese curriculum standard(2011 Edition),which requires to improve the abilities of students in four dimensions,namely,memorization,understanding,perception and application.Thirdly,it is valuable to cultivate core qualities of Chinese subject among students,including language application,thinking development,cultural heritage and aesthetic appreciation.In the second part,this paper points out the changes in newly compiled textbook,including the selection of content and the distinction of class types.The differences of poetry teaching between the within and outside of classroom are of great significance to the guidance of developing strategies.In the following part,this paper mainly discussed the teaching strategies of ancient poetry teaching in junior middle school.After studying the instructions by Mr.Wang Rumin,the editor in chief of the textbook,and other Chinese experts,and being combined with Mr.Wang Rongsheng's criteria of text selection and division,the ancient poetry teaching is positioned as "fixed article";making full use of all kinds of reading aid systems provided by the textbook for teaching and reading poems with specific and detailed course examples.I came up with three teaching strategies: First,closely follow the exercises after class: using the exercises to teach the particularity of each poetry and excavate the commonness of the question group and train the method of reading poetry;second,skillfully use the illustrations: figuring out the connection between words and pictures,taking pictures as the tie between poems and meanings beyond characters;Third,implement teaching by reading groups of articles,which includes all the ancient poetry within textbooks,the "1 + X" group from extracurricular reading materials,and the transfer reading focused on appreciation methods.Finally,this paper provides the teaching strategies of ancient poetry in extracurricular materials.There are few research papers about the extracurricular reading of ancient poetry.Through the arrangement of the extracurricular learning,we can understand and respect the intention of the editor.With practical teaching cases after the operation,and extract two teaching strategies: one is to take the poetry review in the textbook as the appreciation example: inspire angles to appreciate poems.The second is to regard the poems in extracurricular materials as “paradigms” to implement small group reading.By grouping four poems as a section,treat as learning theme the application of appreciation methods to understand the knowledge of poems.All in all,the innovation of this paper lies in: focusing on the compilation intention of the junior middle school Chinese textbook,making clear the differences between the teaching strategies of ancient poetry within and outside of curricular plan,trying to explore how to make good use of all kinds of reading aid resources,providing specific classroom cases,closely connecting the practice of junior middle school poetry teaching with theories.I hope this paper have certain reference value to the teaching of ancient poetry in junior high school.
