Food safety is related to people’s life and health and has always been a topic of social focus.In recent years,food safety problems emerge one after another,seriously endangering people’s life safety.School canteen food safety work as a part of food safety work,because of the particularity of its service object,can be said to be an important content of food safety work,need to be taken seriously by schools and relevant government departments.However,although the state has issued targeted policies and taken a series of measures for school food safety,the food safety situation in school canteens is still severe,and there are still many problems in food safety management,which need to be further studied.This study takes primary and secondary school canteens in W County as the research object,analyzes the existing problems in the food safety management of school canteens by means of questionnaire survey and field inspection,and puts forward suggestions for improvement.The results are as follows:(1)On the whole,the food safety work of primary and secondary school canteens in W County is well completed in the aspects of food freshness,information disclosure and document preservation.And the poor work mainly for food safety propaganda and education and canteen hygiene,especially the raw material storage area and personal hygiene facilities the worst health conditions.(2)In terms of school nature and regional classification,the canteen food safety work of public schools and urban schools is better than that of private schools and rural schools.Compared with public schools,private schools need to pay more attention to food safety and strengthen publicity and education,increase investment in restaurant hardware facilities,and do a good job in the cleanliness of the canteen.Compared with urban schools,rural schools need to strengthen and improve the weak links such as publicity and education,investment in hardware facilities and the quality of canteen practitioners.(3)The main problems in the food safety management of the school canteen are as follows: First,the school does not pay enough attention to the canteen,less investment,ineffective implementation of the management system,management measures are not in place and lack of campus food safety publicity and education,there are obvious deficiencies in private and village schools,the second is the government departments,parents and news media and other external supervision force is not in place.The suggestions for improvement are as follows: first,the school should pay more attention to the implementation of campus food safety responsibility,carry out campus food safety education,further increase the investment in the canteen hardware facilities,use HACCP method to carry out scientific management,improve the canteen food safety management level;The second is to improve the level of external supervision by strengthening the supervision power and detection ability of government departments and giving full play to the supervision role of students’ parents and news media.At the same time,strengthen the supervision and assistance of key types of schools to promote the improvement of food safety management ability of school canteens.
