In July 2021,the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued the Opinions on Further Reducing the Burden of Students'Homework and Off-campus Training in Compulsory Education(hereinafter referred to as"Double Reduction").This is an important decision.The state should cultivate talents for the party and the country from a strategic height,adhere to the people-centered educational concept,adhere to the implementation of moral education as the fundamental goal,develop students'quality education,cultivate useful talents for the society,and ensure the healthy growth of students in compulsory education.The implementation of the policy of "double reduction" has promoted the positive changes of China's educational ecology and provided unprecedented opportunities for training high-quality talents with all-round development in morality,intelligence,physique,art and labor.However,at present,most junior middle school education and teaching are restricted by many factors,such as inadequate implementation of policy details,lack of consciousness of students,and teachers' inability to fully adapt to the new policy teaching concept.There are still obvious problems in realizing effective geography classroom under"double reduction".Based on the implementation requirements of the "double reduction" policy,this paper first searched and sorted out the relevant theories extensively,and on this basis,used the research methods of literature research,questionnaire survey,teacher interview,classroom observation and case study,etc.,to study some problems existing in geography teaching and their causes,with the intention of solving how to reduce classroom time on the premise of the "double reduction" policy.How to make good use of the time after class to achieve the purpose of reducing time without reducing teaching quality.Combining with the characteristics of geography,this paper summarizes and sorts out junior high school geography knowledge,and answers how teachers can guarantee teaching quality under "double reduction"."Double reduction" does not mean to reduce the cultivation of talents,but to achieve the cultivation of core literacy in a limited classroom.Based on this,this paper gives targeted strategies and suggestions,including:(1)research curriculum standards,and do a good job of connecting junior and senior high school textbooks.(2)Establish new teaching ideas and implement inquiry-based innovative teaching.(3)Pay attention to students' dominant position and innovate the teaching methods of guiding students.Finally,through case analysis,this paper studies the innovative teaching cases of junior high school geography under the background of "double reduction".With the support of the innovative teaching ideas and strategies of junior high school geography under the background of "double reduction",in order to better achieve the teaching objectives of "reducing the burden"and "increasing the efficiency",the sub-Saharan Africa,the seventh grade volume of junior high school geography,is taken as an example to discuss how to construct an effective geography classroom with double reduction and how to reduce homework assignments.I hope to provide reference for the future geography teaching work under "double reduction".
