With the deepening of biology curriculum reform in senior high schools,Chinese middle school education has entered a new era of focusing on the cultivation of core literacy.The high school biology curriculum standards issued in 2017 classified scientific inquiry ability as one of the core qualities of biology subject,which has attracted people's attention and attention.In recent years,the theory of learning progression has gradually entered the attention of domestic scholars,and the research on cultivating students' core qualities based on the theory of learning progression is increasing day by day,and the theory of learning progression has also been recognized by teachers.This study mainly studies the influence of teaching mode under the theory of learning progression on students' biological scientific inquiry ability,and provides some ideas and references for front-line teachers to cultivate students' scientific inquiry ability.Firstly,this study adopts literature analysis method to review the research status of learning progression theory and scientific inquiry ability,and defines relevant concepts,sorts out the theoretical basis of the study,and then clarifies the main content of the study.Secondly,a questionnaire was used to investigate the first-year students of a high school in Harbin to understand the actual level of the scientific inquiry ability of the first-year students.At the same time,the application of advanced learning theory in biology teaching and teachers' opinions and suggestions on advanced learning theory were learned through teacher interviews.Scientific inquiry ability.On the basis of the above work,through the analysis of teaching materials and curriculum standards,a framework for advanced learning is constructed,so as to form an instructional design based on advanced learning theory.Finally,the pretest results were used to carry out equal group teaching practice with two classes in grade one as the research objects.After one semester,students' scientific inquiry ability was tested through questionnaires,examination results and interviews.Through the analysis of the results,it is finally concluded that the use of advanced learning theory in teaching can develop students' scientific inquiry ability,improve their academic performance,and stimulate students' interest in learning biology.Thus,it helps students to become innovative talents that society needs.
