Scientific inquiry is one of the important contents of the core accomplishment of biology.It refers to the ability of students to discover biological problems in life and study,to observe and ask questions about specific biological phenomena,to design and implement programs,and to analyze and communicate the results of experiments.High school biology experiment teaching is the way to cultivate students' scientific inquiry ability,but in the actual high school biology experiment teaching,the attitude of teachers and students towards experiment teaching is deviated.The important role of scientific inquiry in biological experiment culture is not enough.Based on the important value of cultivating scientific inquiry ability and combining with the present situation of experimental teaching,this paper puts forward the relevant strategies of cultivating students' scientific inquiry ability in experimental teaching and applies it to practice.In this study,the students' attitude towards biology experiment and their scientific inquiry ability were investigated by questionnaire.The results show that the students agree with the function of biology experiment.The students' ability to observe is generally better,less than students' ability to communicate and cooperate.It shows that the students have the intention and interest to observe the biological phenomena in life,and the students are interested in some biological problems in life.The students' ability to find problems and to design and implement inquiry programs is slightly lower,which is due to the lack of teacher training in this area in class,students' enthusiasm for inquiry cannot be put into practice.The students have the weakest ability to analyze the results of inquiry.In the biology experiment classroom,which is dominated by confirmatory experiments,although the students are willing to participate and discuss,it is still difficult to cultivate the students' ability to analyze the results of inquiry.Through the integration and analysis of the experimental part of the curriculum standard and the college entrance examination questions,and according to the present situation of experimental teaching,to formulate the principles and strategies of optimizing experimental teaching.The principles put forward in this paper include: the principle of experiment visualization;the principle of giving full play to theexperimental activation;the principle of mixed use of various teaching forms;and the principle of proper application of teaching evaluation.The teaching strategies put forward in this paper include: take the teaching content as the main line,highlighting the cultivation of inquiry elements;developing multiple teaching resources,widening scientific inquiry paths;using cognitive conflict theory and cultivating scientific inquiry ability;making use of classroom teaching to leave white space,cultivating the spirit of scientific inquiry.According to the teaching principle and strategy,the case design is carried out.The result shows that taking the biology experiment as the clue,highlighting the core accomplishment of scientific inquiry and teaching with the inquiry teaching method are helpful to the cultivation of the students' scientific inquiry ability.
