Based on the requirements of the curriculum standards for mathematical thinking and the delivery of innovative talents for social progress,this paper conducts a study on the application of inductive reasoning ideas in junior high school mathematics teaching.First,starting from the requirements of curriculum standards,the background and research significance of inductive reasoning are introduced,and the following three aspects are determined:(1)understanding the inductive reasoning ability of junior high school students at present;(2)analyzing the factors affecting students' inductive reasoning ability;(3)making research on strategies to improve junior high school students' inductive reasoning ability according to the analyzed influencing factors.Secondly,the background of foreign development and the current situation of domestic research are elaborated respectively to discuss inductive reasoning under core literacy,inductive reasoning in mathematical thinking and educational psychology theory.Again,the survey research method and the case study method were used to investigate the mathematics teachers of junior high school in a school and the students of four classes of junior high school in that school.And three important conclusions were drawn based on SPSS statistical analysis software:(1)junior high school students' inductive reasoning ability is not optimistic;(2)junior high school teachers do not pay attention to teaching inductive reasoning;(3)the correlation between students' inductive reasoning ability and the frequency of teachers' heuristic teaching is significant,indicating that junior high school students' inductive reasoning ability can be improved through teachers' teaching.Finally,in order to help front-line teachers successfully integrate inductive reasoning into their teaching,based on the results of the survey and analysis,four theoretical suggestions are proposed for teaching inductive reasoning,and three examples of teaching designs that can be integrated into inductive reasoning are also selected for front-line teachers to develop students' inductive reasoning skills in their classrooms.
