Mathematical errors directly reflect the problems existing in students'understanding,command,and application of knowledge in the learning process.On the other hand,mathematical errors provide insights into the problems in teachers'teaching.Therefore,mathematical errors are an important resource for both teachers and students to improve themselves.It is of great importance to make error analyses in mathematics and apply them in the learning and teaching effectively.Under this background,based on questionnaires and surveys conducted among the teachers and the students in a high school in Fujian,this paper mainly examines high-school students' attitude towards mathematical errors,and investigates how students correct,reflect on and make use of their mathematical errors and how teachers utilize mathematical errors made by students in their teaching.Based on the connections between error analyses in mathematics and deep learning,the characteristics of deep learning and the analysis of the survey,this paper summarizes the principles that students should follow in the making of error analyses in mathematics.More importantly,this paper points out that students should pay particular attention to the cause of their mistakes and reflect on their mistakes.This paper argues that under the guidance of teachers students should sort out their mistakes,analyze the cause of theirs mistakes,realize the misunderstanding in their learning,make up for their lack of knowledge and cultivate good learning habits.It is found that by sorting out the mistakes made by students teachers can timely know about the dynamics of students' learning,reflect on their teaching and improve their teaching strategies.Moreover,this paper makes some suggestions for both teachers and students.Students should review their error analyses in mathematics frequently in order to avoid making the same mistakes.Besides,student is encouraged to borrow each others' error analyses in mathematics,discuss their mistakes and help each other in order to reflect on their mistakes and acquire related knowledge.As for teachers,they can make use of error analyses in mathematics to improve students' learning ability,to know about students'command of knowledge,to improve their own ability to design examinations,to reflect on their own teaching and to improve their teaching strategies.
