Ancient Chinese poetry is an integral part of Chinese culture and is valued as the splendid treasure in terms of traditional culture and Chinese literature history.Primary students can benefit a lot from learning ancient Chinese poetry.It provides students with a way to inherit Chinese traditional culture,enrich their spiritual life,boost national identity,cultivate sentiment and access to the influences of aesthetics.As the traditional culture has been gradually emphasized at the national level,ancient Chinese poetry as an essential component and important carrier of traditional culture has been put on the spotlight and received more attention.At the same time,the number of Chinese ancient poetry compiled into Chinese textbooks has increased significantly in primary school education;therefore,ancient poetry teaching is one of the important parts of Chinese teaching.It is significant to study the ancient Chinese poetry To improve both ancient Chinese poetry teaching level for teachers and comprehensive literacy for students.To begin with,the ancient Chinese poetry covered in this paper ranges from Grade One to Grade Six of primary school with a total of twelve books complied by the ministry,in which all the selected ancient Chinese poetry willbe sorted out in terms of edition characteristic,teaching aims of certain level and the contents.Moreover,the author comprehensively uses questionnaires and in-person interviews and statistic methods to study the selected ancient Chinese poetry in books compiled by Ministry.Author randomly selected two hundred students and sixty teachers to do questionnaires in three primary schools in Hi-tech district,Chengdu and found four problems of current ancient Chinese poetry teaching as below: lower ancient Chinese poetry literacy in teachers;unimodal teaching method;lack of interest in students;and passive learning.The reasons that lead the four questions are as following: teachers have limit knowledge reserve of ancient Chinese poetry;teachers pay less attention to the awareness of children’s psychological development;aesthetic education is not enough in the teaching process of ancient Chinese literacy;and students are not motivated to learn ancient Chinese poetry.Based on reasons above,the author came out with four optimal strategies: update teachers’ mindset towards learning;construct proper children’s view in teachers;immerse aesthetic education in teaching;and stimulate student’s motivation in learning ancient Chinese poetry.In the end,under the example of Song Bei Shi Shang Xie author found that the immersion of aesthetic education in ancient Chinese poetry class can create more chance for students to read,develop students’ imagination and encourage students to write ancient Chinese poetry.However,the shortages that come from the process of teaching includes poor comments from teachers and less exploratory activities for students.
