With the entry of tennis into the middle school physical education examination, the development of tennis projects in schools is particularly important. At present, most school tennis teaching methods in China still use traditional teaching methods.Teachers demonstrate and students imitate teachers’ demonstration actions.A large number of single repeated exercises may reduce students’ interest in learning. As a psychological training method, image training method has been widely used in various sports, but most of the groups are professional athletes and college students. In order to improve the popularization and development of tennis in primary and secondary schools and actively explore the effective methods of school tennis teaching, this paper studies the effect of image training method on the learning and mastering of tennis skills in junior middle school The influence of tennis learning interest and attention, and explore the effect of the application of image training method in junior middle school tennis teaching. This study mainly uses the methods of questionnaire, literature and experiment to carry out the experimental research.Taking 44 junior middle school first grade tennis elective students in Dayu middle school in Beijing as the experimental object, the elective students are randomly divided into experimental group and control group, with 22 students in each group. The control group used traditional tennis teaching method, mainly multi ball practice; The experimental group used imagery training method and traditional tennis teaching method to conduct a 12 week teaching experiment. After the experiment, the measured data were analyzed by Chinese version SPSS 26.0,and the following results were obtained:1.Before the experiment, there was no significant difference between the two groups in physical quality, image ability, learning interest and attention(P > 0.05).2.After the experiment, there was significant difference in the two dimensions of visual image ability between the experimental group and the control group(P < 0.01),and there was no significant difference in kinesthetic image ability(P > 0.05).3.After the experiment, there was significant difference in the total score of learning interest between the experimental group and the control group(P < 0.01).4.After the experiment, the experimental group and the control group showed significant differences in the two dimensions of attention stability and attention distribution(P < 0.05),and there was no significant difference in the dimension of attention span(P > 0.05).5.After the experiment, the test results and technical evaluation results of forehand stroke, backhand stroke and service in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group. The two groups showed significant differences in forehand stroke and backhand stroke(P < 0.05),and more significant differences in service and technical evaluation(P < 0.01).According to the research results, the following conclusions are drawn:1.The application of image training method can effectively improve students’ individual image ability.2.The use of image training method plus traditional tennis teaching method and simple use of traditional tennis teaching method can improve students’ attention quality.Through tennis teaching, junior middle school students’ attention quality can be effectively developed.3.The use of imagery training method can effectively improve students’ positive interest in learning tennis, reduce students’ negative interest, improve students’ participation in tennis, deepen understanding and improve their independent inquiry ability.4.The application of imagery training method can help to improve the efficiency of students’ learning the basic skills of tennis.
