Filial piety is not only a treasure of traditional Chinese culture,but also an important foundation for the rich development of morality and rule of law education in China.In contemporary times,due to the deepening of the ageing population,the concept of "intelligence over morality" and the objective needs of the times,the cultivation of filial piety for junior high school students,whose three outlooks are being formed,plays a very important role in the development of their personality and healthy growth.However,when we look at the many papers and publications,we find that most of the studies are on students in universities,but few are on adolescents,and even fewer are on junior high school students,and although there are occasional references,there are no major breakthroughs in theory and practice.In order to promote harmonious family relationships and improve the effectiveness of the teaching of Morality and the Rule of Law,this paper uses the literature research method,questionnaire survey method and interview method in order to discover the problems and causes that arise when cultivating filial piety in the teaching of Morality and the Rule of Law in junior high schools,and finally proposes corresponding countermeasures based on the problems and causes and conducts actual classroom teaching to verify them.Firstly,by reading the literature on the cultivation of filial piety at home and abroad,the first part outlines the connotation of filial piety and outlines the main contents of filial piety in junior high school,such as filial respect for elders,care for parents,gratitude to parents and cherishing life,and elaborates on the necessity of teaching filial piety in Morality and Law in junior high school from five aspects: cultivating students' sound personality,building harmonious families,effectively coping with the ageing population,building a harmonious society and passing on traditional culture.Secondly,through questionnaires and teacher interviews,in the second part,we understand the current situation of the cultivation of filial piety in the teaching of Morality and Law in Grade 7,and find that the cultivation process is characterised by specific positive aspects such as the flexibility and variety of teachers' teaching methods and the good practice of filial piety by students.However,there are also some problems: firstly,students and parents are separated from each other;secondly,some teachers do not teach filial piety in practice;thirdly,schools do not pay enough attention to the cultivation of filial piety.Again,on the basis of the problems in the cultivation of filial piety elaborated in the second part,it is followed in the third part by countermeasures in terms of raising the awareness of students and parents of their responsibilities,teaching teachers filial piety in practice,and optimising the training and evaluation system of teachers' filial piety literacy in schools,respectively.Finally,in the fourth section,the lesson 'The Meaning of Home' is used as an example to demonstrate the actual teaching of filial piety in three areas of the educational placement: the preparation for the lesson,the teaching process and the analysis of the effectiveness of the lesson.In conclusion,the cultivation of filial virtues for junior high school students is an indispensable part of the study of Ethics and the Rule of Law as a subject about ethical and moral norms.However,exploring the study of the cultivation of filial virtue in the teaching of Ethics and the Rule of Law in junior high school is destined to be a long one,requiring our efforts and practice in many aspects.
