| Environmental education focuses on the interaction between humans and nature,and it is an important responsibility of secondary school history teachers to integrate environmental education into their history teaching activities,which is in line with the requirements of the times.The aim of the integration of environmental education in history is to further improve the quality of history teaching and learning.Based on the prospect of social development,the needs of history curriculum reform,the requirements of students’ all-round development and other factors,there is a certain theoretical value and practical significance of environmental education for students in secondary school history teaching.Based on a combing of the lessons and contents of the environmental education content of high school history textbooks,it is found that it presents three main features.First,in terms of content,there is more content of a utilitarian and hegemonic nature,and less content of a humanistic,aesthetic and appreciative nature.Second,in terms of distribution,there is more environmental education involved in ancient Chinese history and modern world history,and less in modern Chinese history and ancient world history,showing a staggered distribution of Chinese and foreign history with each other.Thirdly,at present,more attention is paid to the analysis of environmental problems in the process of economic development,explore its advantages and disadvantages,summarize experience and lessons,but ignore the environmental education problems involved in the perspective of social life,such as urban history,the history of plague related to urban environmental management and plague prevention and control measures.According to questionnaires and interviews with students,history teachers and the Environmental Protection Bureau in Jingbian County,Shaanxi Province,teachers’ shortcomings in the teaching of environmental education are mainly in the areas of lack of environmental education content,monotonous teaching methods and teachers’ lack of professional knowledge of environmental education.In order to further improve the problems of environmental education teaching,improve the quality of environmental education teaching and give full play to the value of environmental education,the following four suggestions can be used to optimism and improve environmental education teaching.Firstly,further enhance teachers’ awareness of environmental education;secondly,deepen the theme of environmental education close to the core literacy of history;thirdly,interpret environmental history to unearth environmental education materials;and fourthly,carry out environmental education lessons in a variety of forms.The field of history is developing in depth,and among them is the fruitful research in environmental history,which also provides rich historical resources for the development of environmental education in secondary school history.The implementation of environmental education in secondary school history teaching is not only a great use of the educational function of the subject of history,but also conducive to advancing the continuous development of environmental education in China. |
