The STSE comprehensive practice activity focuses on hot social issues related to chemistry,recognizes and appreciates the significant contribution of chemistry to social development,and develops the ability to make comprehensive analysis and solve problems.Under the new curriculum reform,the teaching method of STSE comprehensive practice activities to implement the core literacy of chemistry has received wide attention.On the basis of literature review and investigation,this study discusses the design of STSE comprehensive practice activities in middle school chemistry,and carries out an empirical study on the effectiveness of STSE in cultivating the core literacy of chemistry.First,the author sorted out the relevant literature of the core literacy of chemistry and STSE comprehensive practice,and understood the implementation status of STSE comprehensive practice activities by combining the student questionnaire survey and interviews with front-line chemistry teachers.The results show that the implementation of STSE comprehensive practice activities is not optimistic,mainly due to the lack of readily available curriculum resources for teachers' reference.Secondly,the author through the analysis of the curriculum standards for STSE comprehensive practice requirements,combined with the survey of teachers 'advice and students' demands,chose the "comprehensive utilization and protection of Marine resources" as the theme,developed the "resource planner" to explore activities,"water quality inspector" experimental activities,"Marine protection researcher" research activities three teaching cases,to guide students to understand the value of chemistry in society,technology and environment in the STSE comprehensive practice activities,and then to develop the core literacy of chemistry discipline.Finally,this study launched a practical study.Taking the two classes with no significant differences in the second grade of Hainan XX Middle School as the experimental subjects,the STSE comprehensive practice activities were carried out in the experimental class,while the control class did not intervene.The author uses the STSE comprehensive practice detection paper and the multi-party evaluation scale as the research tools.Research found that the development of STSE comprehensive practice cases is conducive to promote the course implementation;STSE comprehensive practice activities promote students with scientific evaluation;STSE comprehensive practice activities for the cultivation of chemistry core literacy is feasible and effective.
