"Biology Curriculum Standard for Ordinary Senior High School(2017 Edition revised in 2020)" points out that cultivating students' core literacy of biology for lifelong development is the fundamental task and value pursuit of senior high school biology curriculum,and emphasizes the important role of concept teaching in cultivating core literacy.Concept teaching is the core of biology teaching.How to effectively organize biology classroom teaching around concepts,help students to achieve in-depth understanding and transfer application of biological concepts,and then establish biological concepts is a problem that educators need to consider and solve at present.However,in the current concept teaching process,students' dominant position in learning is not brought into play,students passively accept knowledge,and lack autonomy and enthusiasm in learning.Thus,it is imperative to explore a new teaching mode in senior high school biology concept teaching.Tf U teaching mode,namely "Teaching for Understanding" teaching mode,consists of four components: enlightening topics,understanding objectives,understanding activities and continuous evaluation.This teaching model advocates that students can form a deep understanding of concepts through their own experience and practical exploration in teaching activities,and can provide a teaching framework for teachers and help them solve their shortcomings in concept teaching.Therefore,this study attempts to apply Tf U teaching model to concept teaching,and establish effective biology concept teaching strategies to promote students' concept understanding.Through questionnaires and interviews,we know the current situation of senior high school students' biological concept learning and teachers' concept teaching.It is find that students' knowledge and learning methods of biological concepts need to be further improved,teachers lack the knowledge of advanced biological concept teaching theories,and some problems exist in the implementation of concept teaching strategies.However,both students and teachers accept the teaching of biological concepts based on Tf U teaching mode,which is feasible.Combined with the results and analysis of the current situation investigation,based on the characteristics of Tf U teaching mode and related research of concept teaching,the strategies of concept teaching under Tf U teaching mode are constructed: first,setting up inspiring topics to lead out the content of concept teaching;Second,show the goal of understanding and build a conceptual network;Third,carry out understanding activities to promote conceptual understanding;Fourth,the implementation of sustainability evaluation,feedback concept understanding.Based on the constructed teaching strategy,select the teaching content,clarify the concept,design the case of conceptual teaching,and then apply the teaching design to the actual classroom teaching,and test its teaching effect.In this study,two classes with similar cognitive ability of concept learning,biological achievement and classroom atmosphere are selected as the research objects.The experimental class conducts concept teaching under Tf U teaching mode,while the control class conducts routine teaching.After teaching practice,three research and evaluation tools are used to test the teaching effect.The test results show that: compared with the control class,the experimental class has significantly improved the cognitive ability of concept learning(P < 0.05),especially the thinking ability and knowledge application ability;In terms of classroom learning performance,students' initiative in classroom participation and achievement of goals have been greatly improved.In terms of promoting students' concept understanding,in the final test,the average score of the experimental class was 3.09 points higher than that of the control class,and there was a significant difference between the biological scores of the experimental class and the control class(P < 0.05).The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)It is feasible to teach senior high school biology concepts under Tf U teaching mode;(2)Teaching senior high school biology concepts based on Tf U teaching mode can effectively improve students' cognitive ability of concept learning,especially their thinking ability and knowledge application ability;(3)Concept teaching classroom under Tf U teaching mode is more attractive;(4)Teaching senior high school biology concepts based on Tf U teaching mode can promote students' understanding of concepts and improve their biological achievements.
