Nowadays,the research on the integration and application of chemistry history in middle school chemistry teaching has been paid more and more attention by chemistry teachers and education researchers.By understanding,most of the relevant research content is concentrated on the content that has been compiled in middle school textbooks,including the history of modern chemistry and the achievements of ancient Chinese chemistry.A small number of studies involve ancient Chinese books and poems.While the alchemy,the important part of the history of chemistry in the ancient western world and also known as the prototype of modern chemistry,is rarely involved.This research to integrate it into middle school chemistry teaching is almost blank.Although alchemy violates the basic principles of the conservation of elements in chemical reactions and contradicts the conclusions of modern science,judging from the fact that it has gradually evolved and developed into modern chemistry,there must be some valuable consideration and reference in middle school chemistry teaching.This research mainly searches and consults related books and literature on the history of alchemy,and selects some parts that are related to the content of middle school chemistry teaching,such as the development history of alchemy,the first elementary thought,the seven metal theories,and the sage’s stone,distillation operation,experimental equipment and so on.This thesis simplify and integrate them appropriately,combine with domestic middle school chemistry textbooks and teaching content,use classroom introduction,horizon expansion,test question preparation,etc.,through teaching case design and teaching practice,try to make an exploration of integrating it into middle school chemistry teaching.By research,investigation and analysis,it can be known that although alchemy does not conform to the basic principles of modern science,but as an important part of the history of chemistry,alchemy has some unique value and effect in chemistry teaching.It can enriches teaching resources,stimulates students’ interest in learning,broadens students’ horizons,helps students understand and master chemistry knowledge,promoting the development of students’ thinking,enhancing their scientific and humanistic literacy.It is hoped that teachers can correctly understand alchemy and use this as an example to guide students to learn to look at alchemy and other things around them in an objective and dialectical perspective.At the same time,it is recommended that teachers and educational researchers try their best to explore and experiment bravely when searching,developing and researching the teaching resources.By this way,the middle school chemistry teaching would be improved to develop students’ literacy.
