| In 2017,the national Ministry of Education promulgated the “compulsory education primary school science curriculum standards”,which clearly appeared the part of“science,technology,society and environment goals”,and the development of STEM education is the general trend.In recent years,the problem of unit arrangement in primary school science textbooks has become increasingly prominent,but the research on unit integration is very scarce.This study integrates STEM curriculum unit with engineering project as the main carrier by integrating STEM concept,which provides a new perspective for science teachers on how to implement STEM unit teaching in the classroom.First of all,the definition of STEM curriculum unit integration,teaching mode and the way to implement STEM integration in primary school science have been summarized in this study by combing the relevant discussion of STEM education.On this basis,we make clear the idea of STEM curriculum unit integration,and establish the idea of STEM unit integration under the guidance of engineering project.Combined with the characteristics of primary school science,the development mode and design principle of engineering project are further clarified.Secondly,the unit of “wonderful sound kingdom” in the fourth grade of primary school science of Jiangsu Education Press has been taken as an example,and integrate the STEM concept into the teaching design and implementation of curriculum unit integration.In this process,we used the international classic scientific activity design model-6E teaching model to design the project of self-made electric guitar in six stages.Combined with the learning situation of primary school students in Fuzhou City,the students in Class 7,Grade 4 were selected as the implementation objects.According to the schedule of the fourth grade science course,we designed the whole project for four hours.This paper makes a detailed introduction of the teaching design and implementation of one of the engineering practice courses.Finally,through the questionnaire survey and analysis of the students who participated in the implementation of STEM integration,and combined with the engineering practice class,we conducted the interview analysis on the related problems and views of teachers and students.Two conclusions were drawn as follows.First,the engineering project is an effective way to integrate STEM education and primary school science.Secondly,the science teaching based on STEM has positive value to improve students’ learning motivation. |
