With the advent of the information age,social development has put forward higher requirements for students 'information processing ability,which promotes students' information literacy and information awareness to develop in a higher direction.Processing information is the key link of scientific inquiry,which directly affects the development of scientific inquiry activities.This study defines the connotation of information processing ability according to the subject characteristics of primary school science,and divides the information processing ability into four dimensions: obtaining information,recording and sorting information,analyzing information and expressing information ability.The design designs the level evaluation scale and questionnaire that reflect the actual development of pupils 'students' information ability,selects the fourth grade students as the survey object,investigate the development status of pupils 'information processing ability,understand the level of pupils' information processing ability,the overall is in the middle level,there is some room for improvement.Students 'ability to obtain information,lack of records and standardization,lack of scientific information processing is traditional teaching mode,students lack of opportunity to participate in inquiry activities and lack of process training;scientific teaching facilities is an objective factor restricting the development of students' information processing ability.According to the factors affecting students' ability to handle information,according to the characteristics of primary school science,based on 5E teaching mode,designed the "5E mode" teaching design model,put forward different strategies of teaching link practice: "Engagement"(Create situations,generate interest),"Exploration"(Design scheme,scientific inquiry),"Explanation"(Collect the evidence,share the communication),"Elaboration"(Course summary,ability improvement),"Evaluation"(Multiple evaluation,check the gaps).The teaching content is divided into: text information,data type information,choose the appropriate teaching content,using the "5E model" teaching design model for teaching design,in practice school after a semester of practice teaching,through teaching test and compare students 'learning records found application "5E model" teaching design model teaching,students' information processing ability has improved significantly.
