Nowadays,our country has entered the era of popularization of higher education,and the number of graduate students applying for examinations and the scale of enrollment are increasing day by day,which also poses a challenge to the quality of postgraduate education.At the same time,with the impact of the sudden epidemic,the postgraduate entrance examination has continued to become a "buffer" for employment.It is difficult for the number of graduate students to match the existing educational resources,and the imbalance between supply and demand has also brought various disadvantages.In view of the disciplinary attributes and hierarchical characteristics of liberal arts,as well as the relative imbalance in the number of liberal arts graduates,the issue of the quality of training postgraduates in liberal arts deserves attention.The research ability of postgraduates is an important criterion to measure the academic level of postgraduates,and also an important indicator to reflect the quality of academic postgraduate education.Based on the scientific research ability of academic postgraduates in liberal arts,this research explores the problems and reasons of their scientific research ability.It is important to improve the theoretical research related to the research ability of master's students,and it is a reference value for the improvement of the quality of postgraduate education and the enhancement of the research ability of individual graduate students.This paper is based on literature,questionnaire and interview methods.Firstly,the questionnaire method was used to investigate the ability level of each dimension of scientific research ability of academic postgraduates in liberal arts,and statistical analysis was carried out on the collected questionnaire data.Differential analysis was carried out in each dimension of ability,and cross-analysis was carried out on the results of scientific research papers and background variables.Secondly,nine postgraduate students in the sample were randomly selected as interviewees to gain an in-depth understanding of their current research capability through the interview method.According to the survey results of the scientific research ability of academic postgraduates in the liberal arts,it is concluded that the scientific research ability of the academic postgraduates in the liberal arts is mostly at the medium level,among which the problem finding ability,the operation execution ability,the logical thinking ability are relatively weak,the scientific research papers are few and the Not high quality.In terms of influencing factors,individual postgraduates invest less time in scientific research,the mentor's guidance is not comprehensive enough,and the school pays less attention to the development of scientific research ability of liberal arts postgraduates.According to the interview records and analysis,there are three reasons for the low level of scientific research ability of academic postgraduates in liberal arts: graduate students are not interested in scientific research,their positioning is not clear,and scientific research investment is insufficient;the number and time of tutors' guidance is insufficient,and the guidance method is single,the guidance is not enough,and the attention to the research ability of postgraduates is low;the establishment of the scientific research environment is not perfect,the evaluation system for scientific research ability is lacking,and the curriculum and teaching system are not conducive to the progress of research ability of postgraduates.According to the results of the investigation and analysis of the reasons,targeted suggestions are put forward from three aspects: individual graduate students,supervisors and schools: individual graduate students should enhance their sense of self-identity,establish self-confidence in scientific research,actively participate in various academic activities or scientific research training,and clarify scientific research tasks.The postgraduate tutor can improve the way of guidance,intensify the guidance,guide the students in a targeted manner,and clarify the guidance time;the school should create an academic environment that is conducive to the improvement of postgraduate research ability,improve the evaluation system of postgraduate research ability,and build The curriculum and teaching system with the cultivation of postgraduate research ability as the core.Finally,the findings of this study are summarised and a reflective summary of the shortcomings of this study is provided.
