Foreign novels are an essential part of Chinese teaching in senior high schools and play an important role in promoting students to broaden their cultural horizons,respect and accommodate diverse cultures,understand and appreciate diverse cultures and improve their core literacy in Chinese.However,in the practical teaching of foreign novels in senior high school,how to improve the teaching quality of foreign novels,promote students to broaden their cultural horizons,and learn to respect and understand diverse cultures,how to further improve students' Chinese core literacy there is still some space for exploration and research.Therefore,it is necessary to study the teaching of foreign novels in senior high school.In this case,this paper introduces the multicultural education,from the perspective of multicultural education to study the teaching of senior high school Chinese foreign novels,study its feasibility and strategy.It is hoped that the teaching of foreign novels in senior high school can be effectively promoted so as to enhance the students' awareness of affirming cultural diversity,respecting and tolerating cultural diversity,understanding and appreciating cultural diversity,and promoting the development of students' core literacy of Chinese.This paper makes an in-depth investigation on the current situation of foreign novel learning and teaching in senior high school by means of questionnaire and interview,and makes a statistical analysis of the survey data.After analyzing the data,we find that there are five problems in the teaching of foreign novels in senior high school,that is,content integration and examination-oriented,knowledge construction model,reduce the shallow prejudice,equality teaching simplification,lack of school culture.This paper analyzes the reasons for the existing problems,namely,the lack of quality improvement,the form of thinking training,the shallow cultural understanding,the lack of aesthetic experience,the weak use of language.On the basis of summing up the problems and analyzing the causes,this paper puts forward the corresponding teaching strategies in the light of the five dimensions of multicultural education,which include the following points:firstly,reasonably integrating the contents and cultivating the core qualities;enhance the cultural literacy of teachers,increase the introduction of background knowledge.Secondly,the scientific construction of knowledge,improve thinking ability,combined with the characteristics of the novel,explore the plot,character analysis,analysis of artistic characteristics.Thirdly,we should reduce cultural prejudice and improve cultural understanding,and combine the whole book reading,Comparative Reading and Group Reading to expand students' cultural horizons and enhance students' cultural understanding.Then,we should enrich the equal teaching,improve the aesthetic appreciation,improve the teaching methods,use the comparative teaching method and the situational teaching method reasonably,and use the advantage of “Internet+”to improve the students' aesthetic appreciation ability.Finally,building school culture and developing language ability;on the basis of respecting the differences of students,designing individualized reading guide,guiding the expression of extracurricular reading and writing,strengthening the communication of reading,thus improving the language ability of different groups of students,cultivating students core literacy of Chinese.
