We are in an era of economic globalization and networked information. Those people, who have different cultural background, Weltanschauung and manners of doing things, have more and more demands for intercommunion and cooperation, and multicultural literacy has become one of the basic making of modern people, and the acquirement of multicultural intercommunion capacity depends on the impartation of multicultural education. Currently, multicultural education, which becomes a global education trends, has been considered one effective tool to create a multicultural society and to respect for equal human rights. This article discusses in depth the problem about utilizing foreign literary works to carry out multicultural education in Chinese teaching stage of senior high school.First, the thesis discusses the reason of carrying out multicultural education in Chinese teaching of senior high school in detail, and which deems the natural connection of literature and culture to be the premise of utilizing Chinese teaching to carry out cultural education, and the literature is the best carrier of cultural inheritance. The existing selections from foreign literary works in Chinese teaching materials of senior high school are excellent text materials for conducting cultural education, which provide a good foundation for multicultural education. The need for multicultural education is discussed from three aspects in detail. The three aspects include that multicultural education is the basic requirement of the new Chinese curriculum standard in senior high school, and which is the inevitable requirement to train high quality talent, and which is an effective way to improve literary accomplishments of the students.Second, taking into account that determining teaching content is the key of the implementing education, the paper delves into the entry point of multicultural education basing on foreign literature works of Chinese material in senior high school. Through the analysis of main features about western culture, this paper brings forward some specific methods for cultural orientation of foreign literary works. The specific methods include that starting from the content of the works to refine the main direction of cultural learning, from basic cultural connotation of the work to extend the content of culture education, and through analysis of cultural connotations in depth to deeply understand the meanings of works. The thesis gives typical analysis about above methods.Third, surrounding to improve the effect of multicultural teaching, this disquisition preliminarily discusses teaching methods and the problems which should be noticed. The paper proposes the comparison of Chinese and foreign cultures should always run through the teaching of foreign literature in Chinese teaching of senior high school, and which believes the knowledge accumulation of teacher about western culture would has an important effect on multicultural education. At the same time, the thesis believes that leading students to extendedly read is an effective way to improve the effectiveness of multicultural education, but the negative tendency of the culture education weakening literary education should be avoided.
