The continuous development of society and the acceleration of the economic globalization have promoted the increasingly frequent exchanges between countries,meanwhile also brought cultural exchanges and collisions.Culture diversity result in exchanges,mutual learning due to exchange,and developing due to mutual learning.In the context of multiculturalism,we need to pay more attention to the outstanding historical culture of other countries,actively learn and absorb the essence of foreign cultures,learn from each other's strengths,and expand our horizons;we should also establish a cultural perspective of equality,mutual learning,and tolerance to adapt to the globalization process and promote self development.In the junior high school education stage,foreign literatures in Chinese textbooks provide students with a shortcut to understanding multiculturalism.Foreign poetry is an important part of foreign literature.With this highly representative literary form,tap the traditional culture and social customs of other countries.To understand its historical context and social changes is of great significance for middle school students to expand the horizons,improve literary attainment,and establish a complete knowledge structure.Foreign poetry teaching is an important part of Chinese teaching in middle schools.In the actual teaching process,on the one hand,many teachers do not fully realize the importance of foreign poetry teaching;on the other hand,students are facing a heavy academic burden and the pressure of middle school entrance examinations,which making students lack of interest in learning foreign poetry.All these make foreign poetry teaching becoming a shortcoming of middle school Chinese teaching gradually.This paper analyzes the current situation of foreign poetry works in the junior high school Chinese textbooks using interviews and classroom observation methods to investigate the teaching and learning of students in the practice schools,and analyzes the problems existing in the two processes.From the overall perspective of coexistence of multiple cultures,a series of effective teaching implementation strategies such as appreciation method,translation analysis,and comparative teaching methods are proposed.The thesis consists of three chapters.The first chapter analyzes the compilation and selection of foreign poetry works in junior high school Chinese textbooks and the stylistic features.The second chapter combines the actual teaching practice with interview methods and classroom observation methods to investigate the current teaching situation,find problems in teaching,and analyze the causes of problems in depth.The third chapter proposes effective teaching strategies based on the problems existing in the teaching process,including the formulation of teaching goals,classroom settings,teaching suggestions,and multiple teaching methods.The conclusion part summarizes the importance of multi-teaching methods,the significance of foreign poetry teaching combined with multi-cultural background,and some shortcomings in the research.It is hoped that the future investigation of foreign poetry will not only stay at the level of teaching,but also study its important literary and artistic values.
