Our course reform mentions core quality in biology,and educators are excepted to spend more and more time on core quality,especially the concept of life.In the course reform,the old way of teaching is not good enough anymore.In recent years,a popular new way of teaching,unit instruction design,has emerged.The idea of this study is to put the unit instructional design and the homeostasis and equilibrium view together,breaking the precedent,for use in the first review of the grade 3 of the high school.Firstly,a mass of documents related to "unit instruction design" and "homeostasis and equilibrium view" were read to learn about the situation in China and foreign countries.Secondly,biology teachers in four key high schools in Ying kou were interviewed for me to know their ideas about core quality of biology and unit instruction design,and to find out the problems in the use of unit instruction design.In response to the problems,"homeostasis and regulation" and "biology and environment" were used as examples,and this study reworked the process of developing the unit instructional design to be applied in the first review of senior year of school.Thirdly,to find out the effectiveness of the teaching,this study took a class experiment in the senior year of school and analyzed the test scores of the experiment,and also compared the test scores with the parallel class.The study used SPSS 21.0 software and the consequence were obtained: during four months,the experimental class' s test scores improved.The percentage of the single subject of biology in the total grade of the experimental class increased,and the students enjoyed studying biology more.Compared with the class with the same grades before,the test scores were better.Therefore,this teaching method was helpful in the first review of the senior year of school and the students' grades improved.In the process of reforming,puts this unit instruction design and the concept of life together,and uses it in the first review of the senior year of school in a breakthrough way with relatively satisfactory results.It can provide useful reference and help for biology teaching in senior high school in China.
