Keller,an American professor of psychology,believes ARCS model is a heuristic model resulting from a lack of focus on motivation but the analysis of motivation on the practical level in the teaching design.By emerging note(A),immediate resistance(R),confidence(C)and satisfaction(S),four hierarchical graduality and highly relevant motivation factors,into the field of instructional design,ARCS model support the generation and maintenance of learners good learning motivation.This article first summarizes the ARCS motivation model theory and motivation of the four elements,analyzing the present situation of junior middle school chemistry teaching from the teaching objectives,teaching contents,teaching activities and teaching evaluation.It finally finds such problems as the teaching content is "boring",teaching accords to books,teaching contents lack of personalized development,thus resulting in the decrease of students' learning enthusiasm.Then,analyzing motivation of four essential factors,"note","personal" and "confidence","satisfaction" proposed by junior middle school chemistry curriculum from the perspective of ARCS motivation theory.It will make out strengths and weaknesses existing in teaching materials,affirm the value of the junior middle school chemistry discipline teaching to the ARCS motivationmodel and put forward the junior middle school chemistry teaching design principles based on ARCS motivation model theory.The article has certain reference significance and provides new ideas for junior middle school chemistry teaching design and implement from the perspective of motivation.At the same time,the article is also the new development of ARCS motivation model and chemistry discipline teaching integration,It also provides an important inspiration and guidance for the design of chemical motivation strategy.
