Research On Group Work Involved In The Construction Of Mutual Aid Network For The Urban Empty-nesters

China is currently facing an important population development trend is aging of population.With the growth of the elderly population in China,the number of "empty-nesters" is also increasing.With the development of economy and the intensification of social competition,people's ideas are also changing.Many young people are unwilling to stay at home and choose to go out to work,while the old stay at home and become "empty-nesters".Due to the absence of their children,the empty-nesters lack of care and companionship from their children,they will inevitably be lonely and lonely psychologically.The quality of life and health problems of the empty-nesters are not only related to the elderly themselves,but also to the harmony and stability of the society.Social work,with its professionalism,shows its unique advantages in solving the problems of the elderly.Therefore,social work is needed to improve the life quality of empty-nesters and promote their physical and mental health development.This study takes the X community in Zhengzhou as an example,and this study is based on the theory of social support and the theory of advantage perspective.Firstly,the author interviewed 30 empty-nesters in X community to understand and analyze the status quo and needs of the empty-nesters in X community.Through investigations,it was found that the empty-nesters in X community have problems such as a small range of social contacts,insufficient spiritual comfort,and lack of social support.Secondly,in order to improve the living conditions of the empty-nesters and make up for the lack of social support networks,the author designed a group activity plan from the perspective of building a mutual aid network,recruited group members,and carried out six group activities involving empty-nesters.In the process of group activities,the author paid attention to the feelings of the group members and the changes made by each group member,and made an assessment and analysis after the end of group activities.Analyzing the effect of intervention found that the development of group activities has improved the awareness and ability of mutual assistance among the empty-nesters,expanded the social interaction of the elderly,alleviated the loneliness of the empty-nesters and realized the effective construction of a mutual aid network for the empty-nesters.In general,the use of group work methods in building a mutual aid network for the empty-nesters has achieved significant results.Finally,the author reflected on this group activity from many aspects,and put forward relevant suggestions,hoping to make a valuable reference for the group work to intervene in the practical application of empty nest elderly.
