The Analysis Of Cross-cultural Adaptation Of Thai Overseas Students In Beijing And Tianjin Region

In last few years,there are an increasing number of Thai students come to china for study.Although the distance between China and Thailand is not far,the cultural differences are still existent.This study focused on Thai students who study in BeijingTianjin region as a breakthrough point to analyze the status quo of adaptation and the existent obstacles within those students.At the meantime,the author would put forward a few pragmatic suggestions to help Thai overseas students improve their adaptive abilities for better study states and living conditions in those areas.This article chose Thai overseas students in Beijing-Tianjin region as a sample,utilizing questionnaire and interview to study their cross-culture adaptive conditions in Beijing and Tianjin.This survey was categorized as social-culture,psychological and study adaptation to analyze the current situations.From the results of above analysis,the author drew the conclusion as the longer they live in Beijing and Tianjin region doesn't stand for the better adaptive abilities in those areas.In contrast,those students may even have some opinions and stereotypes about the regions.In order to solve the cross cultural obstacles that Thai overseas students confronted in studying and living conditions,this study provided some operable advice for universities as follows: first of all,the university should enhance the relationship between teachers and students,and improve the teaching quality in cross-cultural courses;secondly,the university should launch some cross-cultural related activities to enhance the sense of belonging of Thai overseas students;thirdly,the university should establish the cross cultural psychological consulting office for overseas students;fourthly,the university should strengthen the unity and harmony atmosphere Thai overseas students and other countries students;fifthly,the university should adjust traditional courses and books accordingly.In addition,this article also provide some suggestions for Thai oversea students as follows: first,they should change their habits and get used to Chinese-style living conditions;second,they should involve into new lives positively;thirdly,they should adapt local teaching methods positively;fourthly,they should organize some study teams to better communicate and help each other;last but not least,they should reinforce their interests for academic researches.In conclusion,the author hope the results and advice of this study would help Beijing-Tianjin region Thai overseas students have better adaptations in cross-cultural issues.
