With the development of The Times,in addition to cognitive ability,non-cognitive ability has been paid more and more attention by schools,parents and teachers.Based on the data of China Education Tracking Survey(CEPS)from 2013 to 2014,this paper analyzes the influence of family educational investment on children's cognitive ability and non-cognitive ability,and discusses the influence path.Through the empirical analysis,it is found that the economic investment and time investment in family education have a positive impact on the cognitive ability and non-cognitive ability of the children,and the robustness test results are reliable.Then further study found that the impact of family education on children's cognitive and non-cognitive abilities is different between urban and rural areas,gender and grade,urban parents' family education has a greater impact on children's cognitive and non-cognitive abilities than rural parents.The influence of time sexual investment in family education on girls' two abilities is obviously greater than that on boys,but the influence of economic investment in family education on boys' cognitive ability and girls' non-cognitive ability is greater.Ninth graders did better cognitively than seventh graders,but not as well noncognitively.Finally,the mediating effect of students' expected education level,learning attitude and non-cognitive ability on the influence of family education on children's cognitive ability and non-cognitive ability was investigated.The results show that on the one hand,family education can improve students' cognitive ability by improving students' expected educational level,correcting students' learning attitude and improving students' non-cognitive ability;on the other hand,family education can improve students' non-cognitive ability by improving students' expected educational level and correct learning attitude.
