Panel-type furniture is loved by consumers with easy large-scale production,convenient transportation and high advantage of personalized degree.The most widely used melamine veneer particleboard has the advantages of smooth surface,light quality and stable performance,but the entry of outside moisture in the process of use can cause expansion of board type furniture edge.Taking the panel-type furniture products of COMPANY A as an example,through the field investigation and analysis of the actual use of the users of COMPANY A and the quality problems left over from the manufacturing in 2019,it was found that the expansion of the panel-type furniture edges mainly occurred in the edges of products that had been used for 8-10 years and were concentrated in the relatively humid environment such as kitchens and bathrooms.The expansion of the edge of panel-type furniture has affected the brand identity of users to a certain extent,and it is urgent to solve the expansion in the process.In order to solve the expansion of panel-type furniture edge,the following research work was carried out:First,the raw materials,equipment and process of melamine veneer particleboard commonly used by COMPANY A panel-type furniture were investigated and analyzed,including plain board factory,veneer factories and existing edge sealing process.Main results:There were differences between paraffin addition amount of 1.3-1.5 kg/m3 and 3 kg/m3 in plain plate factories.Veneer and edge sealing are in line with the standard and have little influence on expansion.Secondly,the anti-expansion process is carried out by improving the expansion rate of the plate itself and blocking the external water from entering the plate.In terms of the water absorption and expansion rate of the board itself,a comparative test was conducted on the water absorption and expansion rate of particleboard with different paraffin content,and the results showed that the water absorption and expansion rate decreased by 50.16%after the paraffin content was changed from 1.5 kg/m3 to 3 kg/m3.24 h thickness expansion rate of water absorbing decreased to 29.69%.The water absorption and expansion rate of COMPANY A particleboard thickness was successfully reduced from the perspective of substrate.Prevent external water from entering the board:replace EVA hot melt adhesive with PUR hot melt adhesive,and spray sealant and floor wax on the edge of the board.The results show that all the three methods can improve expansion of plate edge.The average expansion time of PUR hot melt adhesive edge sealing plate increased from 3.56 h to 9.03 h and 10.93 h.After the sealing agent is sprayed on the edge of the plate,the new type ii sealant(oily)+new detergent is selected to treat the plate through several perfect tests.The average expansion time of the plate after treatment is 25.9 h,which is 6-8 times of the average expansion time of the plate without treatment.After floor wax treatment,the average swelling time of the board was extended by 3.44 h.Finally,through the comparison and analysis of the three anti-expansion treatment methods,it is found that the sealant treatment plate has the advantages of good anti-expansion effect,little cost increase,easy replication and promotion,and does not need to invest in labor costs,which is more suitable for large-scale use in enterprises.In view of the edge sealing process of COMPANY A workshop,the sealant spraying device was designed by referring to the relevant principles of separation agent spraying device,which was trial-installed and verified on the edge sealing machine of the workshop.The results show that the improved anti-expansion edge sealing technology can effectively improve the edge expansion of panel-type furniture,and further standardize the operation instructions of anti-expansion edge sealing technology for panel-type furniture components.
