The Study Of The Dimensional Stability Of Plastic Edge-banding Of Panel Furniture

Along with the development of panel furniture and the growing concern on the quality requirement of the furniture, as a part of panel furniture, the edge-banding not only effect the quality but also the appearance of the funiture. Thus, the standard setting of the edge-banding is very important and meaningful.This dissertation make a systematical introduction about the edge-banding from two aspects: edge treatment quality in panel furniture production and types of the edge-banding. The main part of this article is studying the dimensional stability of the plastic edge-banding with different factors in environment and production. This research attempts to provide a consult for the production of plastic edge-banding and the edge treatment of panel furniture through the anslysis of the experiment results.Based on the experimental analysis, can get following conclusions:1) Temperature is one of main factors for the dimensional stability of PVC edge-banding. According to the anslysis of experiment results, can get that 65℃is a appropriate experiment temperature.2) Time have no significant effect on the dimensional stability of PVC edge-banding. According to the anslysis of experiment results, 65℃and 4h is a appropriate experiment condition.3) Raw material have significant effect on the dimensional stability of PVC edge-banding. The experiment results indicate that the dimensional stability of PVC edge-banding is not as good as ABS and PP edge-banding.4) Besides, machine, method of processing and assistant all have significant effect on the dimensional stability of PVC edge-banding. On the basis of the experiment results, can get that double screw extruder with powder as well as high content of CaCO3 can get good dimensional stability.5) Lastly, the type of the board of the panel furniture and EVA hot melt adhesive have no effect on the dimensional stability of PVC edge-banding.
