| In the 1990 s,the aviation industry began to form aviation alliances, and airlines explored new ways of cooperation to develop and carve up the international aviation market. However, the rights and interests enjoyed by airlines of different sizes in the airline alliance are getting bigger and bigger;and within the framework of the alliance, the cooperation of airlines across the alliance is also subject to many restrictions. In addition, because there is usually only one key aviation hub in the same market area, the close cooperation between the main members of the aviation alliance also hinders the cooperation of other alliance members in the same market area in the alliance to a certain extent. In order to break through the various restrictions in the airline alliance, seeking suitable opportunities for their own development and building a new type of international partnership to further expand the airline network has increasingly become the focus of airlines. Therefore, new forms of cooperation such as equity cooperation,cross-alliance cooperation, and aviation joint ventures are constantly emerging, which have become a new trend in the international aviation industry.Choosing suitable new partners is also crucial to the better development of airlines. The choice of airline partner is a multi-goal,multi-criterion decision-making problem, which needs to construct a scientific and reasonable partner selection index system by clarifying the connotation of the partnership under the new trend, and use the scientific method to select the right partner within the range of options. This article first defines the concept of "bilateral cooperation" on the basis of domestic and foreign literature research, and clarifies the definition of "bilateral cooperation" between airlines. Then combined with the existing literature and the characteristics of airline cooperation,an indicator system for airline partner selection including 4 first-level indicators and 17 second-level indicators of cooperation fit, basic operating capabilities, network coverage and global influence was constructed. The TOPSIS method of combined weights is used to construct an airline partner selection model to rank and select candidate airlines. Finally,we use the airline partner selection index system and the combination weight TOPSIS method model established in this paper to analyze China Southern Airlines. The final result shows that American Airlines is an extremely suitable partner for China Southern Airlines. |
