| In recent years,China’s real estate market has entered a transition period from frantic expansion to steady growth.Coupled with the impact of the COVID-19 that broke out in 2020,China’s construction market has encountered an unprecedented bottleneck. Therefore, with the EPC project general contracting mode fully entering the construction market,it is very necessary to put forward methods for improving the performance of EPC projects through scientific research. After using the mandatory scoring method to assign weights, this paper selects the benchmarking method to evaluate the performance of the EPC project construction supply chain, and builds a comprehensive performance evaluation model and a single indicator performance evaluation model for the EPC project construction supply chain. Then, this paper takes the first phase of the EPC general contracting project A of a large central enterprise in China as a research case, through the performance evaluation of the case project, three key factors affecting the improvement of the performance of the first phase of the A project are summarized, namely the response speed of the supply chain, the design quality control ability, and the coordination speed of the design work.Through the in-depth analysis of the actual situation of the indicators corresponding to the above three key factors of the case project, the article proposes a method to improve the overall performance of the construction supply chain of the first phase of the A project. Finally, using the empirical research method, taking the second phase of the A project as the object of empirical verification, and applying the method described above to improve the overall performance of the construction supply chain of the first phase of the A project to the second phase of the A project,to verify the correctness of the research conclusions. The success of the empirical verification confirms the correctness and feasibility of the performance improvement method proposed in this paper, taking the first phase of the A project as an example. The study found that many factors can have a positive effect on improving the performance of EPC projects, such as the owner’s rational optimization of the organizational structure of the engineering department, the general contractor’s optimization of the procurement process, the improvement of the management level of the project manager department, the review of drawings in advance, and the improvement of contracts performance capability, actively sign strategic cooperation agreements with suppliers, improve design quality control capabilities, and make design companies respond quickly, etc. |
