Research On Barrier-free Evacuation Design For Disabled People In Beijing Winter Olympics National Stadium

The National Stadium was used for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games as well as the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.As Olympic level venues are required to meet the standards of the International Olympic Committee and the Paralympic Committee for the construction of barrier-free facilities,the venue has been constructed and upgraded for many times to meet the increasing standards of barrier-free facilities construction.Before and after the Beijing Winter Olympic Games,the author participated in the research work of the key special project of "Science and Technology Winter Olympic Games","Personnel dispersal Technology and Disabled people Assistance System for the Winter Olympic and Winter Paralympic Games",focusing on the barrier-free evacuation design of the disabled people under the National Stadium.Will the improvement in the construction level of barrier-free facilities ensure that the evacuation of people with disabilities in emergency situations will be solved? With this problem,this study from the two aspects of the stipulation and actual cases are studied,on the one hand,in the case of the national stadium and the related sports venues investigation and research,on the other hand to the international Olympic committee(ioc)and ipc accessibility guidelines and relevant barrier-free design both at home and abroad,safety evacuation,and sports venues design specification to compare the comprehensive combing.Through the study of the provisions,it is found that the provisions on evacuation of people with disabilities in these provisions are relatively vague and fail to fully reflect the evacuation needs of different types of people with disabilities.In terms of case study,considering that the National Stadium undertakes ice hockey events in the Beijing Winter Olympic Games,this study firstly sorted out and studied the cases of ice hockey venues in the recent five Winter Olympic Games based on their use functions,and summarized the main patterns of the design layout and streamline of accessible evacuation matching them.The effect of barrier-free evacuation of disabled people in these venues was preliminarily summarized and evaluated.At the same time,this study reviews the renovation of barrier-free layout of the National Stadium since its completion,analyzes the effect of each renovation,and points out that the layout and streamline of barrier-free evacuation space should be considered,and attention should be paid to the improvement of barrier-free guide system and barrier-free facilities.In this study,three aspects of barrier-free evacuation space and layout,barrier-free guide system,barrier-free facilities and equipment of the National stadium were analyzed and studied.Combined with the current concept and experience of barrier-free evacuation design,the specific strategies to improve the efficiency of barrier-free evacuation were summarized,and the optimal design scheme was proposed.The results of this study are forward-looking and innovative in the design of barrier-free evacuation of sports venues,and have a good role in guiding and demonstrating related practices.
