| The results of the seventh census show that the Northeast region is seriously aging.Behind the severe aging is the phenomenon of population exodus and reduced willingness to have children due to the economic downturn, insufficient industrial development and reduced employment opportunities. On the one hand, the concentration of educational resources in the northeastern region due to the decrease in student population, and on the other hand,China proposed the policy of "abolishing points and merging schools" in 2001 to consolidate educational resources.Since then,a large number of abandoned schools have emerged in rural areas of China.Due to unclear property rights, these abandoned schools have not been reused, resulting in a waste of social resources. After 2012,the blind "school abolition" was stopped. However, with economic development and urban-rural integration, the layout of China’s educational resources has been continuously adjusted, but the number of primary and secondary schools in the northeastern region, where the population is aging,is still decreasing.Under the strategic layout of "rural revitalization",the rural areas in Northeast China have also been given new opportunities for development.Using the integration of abandoned resources in the village area as a grip, and combining with the theory of "co-creation",we can revitalize the rural areas by replacing the function of abandoned educational space to meet the development needs of villages and the use needs of villagers. In order to realize the rational and effective adaptive reuse of abandoned schools,on the basis of summarizing the current situation of domestic and foreign research, domestic policy documents, and practical cases, this study,on the one hand, investigates the public service facilities and economic development in the village domain, which includes the economic situation, population composition, and major industries of the village, and combines the collection of villagers’ willingness to renovate and behavioral surveys to summarize the demand for renewal of village resources. On the other hand, this study investigates the current situation of existing abandoned school buildings in rural areas of Dalian, analyzes their spatial structure and preservation status, and explores the possibility of their reuse. The above methods are used to summarize the renovation strategies of abandoned schools applicable to the rural areas in Dalian area. After field surveys of villages, villagers, and abandoned schools, six types of facilities for functional replacement of abandoned schools were summarized: rehabilitation and medical care, early childhood education, cultural and sports activities, elderly services, convenience services, and production and development, and through analysis of field research cases and summary of norms, the replacement of basic educational units of abandoned schools to the main functional spaces of the above six types of facilities was proposed. In addition,a postuse evaluation survey was conducted on abandoned buildings that have been spontaneously converted by villagers in the village area, and based on the evaluation results, the shortcomings of villagers’ spontaneously converted buildings in some aspects and the evaluation factors that local users are most concerned about were derived. On the basis of the above, this study proposes the transformation objectives and principles of village abandoned educational buildings, the concerns in the pre-transformation planning and post-use evaluation stages, and the practical transformation points such as spatial layout, flow organization, style protection, and comfort enhancement from two different perspectives of space and people, which provide the basis for the subsequent transformation of actual cases.Translated with www.Deep L.com/Translator(free version)Finally, combined with the research results, this study selected a typical abandoned school in the research area, analyzed the functions that could be replaced according to the characteristics of the village, the opinions of the village committee and the needs of the villagers, and made a specific design for adaptive reuse. The purpose is to combine this study with practice to provide feasibility for the design of functional replacement of adaptive schools in the Dalian area. |
