My country’s expressway development and construction in the past 30 years has now made great achievements.However,relative to the development of expressways,the construction of expressway service areas cannot be followed up in time and cannot fully meet people’s needs for rest experience.In order to improve the overall quality of the expressway,the involvement of public art in the service area to enrich the space environment has become a very important link.In order to make public art better serve users,improving the overall environmental satisfaction of the service area is the focus of this article.Through field research,it is found that the evaluation and analysis of public art in expressway service areas through the semantic difference method(SD)is helpful to quantify the public’s subjective feelings about public art in the space,and thus can analyze the internal reasons for the differences.Furthermore,the main factors that affect the public art design of the expressway service area are obtained through factor analysis,and the internal design elements of the public art design of the service area are summarized,combined with the evaluation results to analyze and formulate the public art design strategy of the expressway service area.The design research of public art intervention service area can be divided into four parts.The first part is to explain the research background,purpose and significance of the subject,analyze the current research situation at home and abroad,and propose the research content,methods and research framework.The second part is the preliminary basic research.It conducts research on the development of public art in the service area and space,clarifies the function and spatial form of the service area,expounds the development of public art in the service area,crowd-oriented and related theories,and presents two cases at home and abroad.Comparative analysis of typical cases.The third part clarifies the feasibility and necessity of SD method in the public art design of service area based on the data analysis of SD method.Combine field surveys and questionnaires to sort out the status of public art in the surveyed service area,use SD and factor analysis methods to conduct a horizontal comparison of semantic evaluation of public art in the survey service area,explore the internal reasons for the differences in public art evaluation,and conclude through factor analysis Four types of factors influencing the evaluation of public art.The fourth part formulates the overall planning strategy,regional design strategy,thematic design strategy and interactive design strategy of expressway service area public art based on the quantitative evaluation results.It is hoped that the research in this article can provide valuable reference and inspiration for public art designers in the service area,so that they can design public art works with higher public acceptance and better experience,and provide help for the artistic construction of my country’s expressway service area space.
