With the opening and operation of China’s high-speed railway,it has opened the door of a new era for China’s high-quality development.As the most important high-speed railway line in China,"Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway" has become an important representative of China’s high-speed railway innovation and development with its high construction standards and high operation level.The Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway company was established in January 2008 with a registered capital of 2 billion and was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on January 16,2020,becoming the "first share of high-speed railway" in the A-share market.The main business of Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway is to provide high-speed railway transportation services and train lines and catenary for other railway transportation enterprises.However,with the gradual departure of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway and the further compression of profit margins,COVID-19’s impact and the competition between civil aviation transportation and potential second tier competition have further intensified its operation and profitability.At present,some domestic and foreign transportation enterprises carry out diversified business through business diversification transformation,such as Japan’s combination of railway and urban business district construction.Germany expands its business by developing logistics business.China’s railway industry also began to explore the diversified development of business in 1984.However,due to the influence of traditional management concept and system,the diversified operation of railway business in China lags behind.At present,the diversified development of high-speed rail business is mainly studied from a macro or single perspective,rarely from the perspective of resource base and enterprise strategy,and rarely from the perspective of quantitative research on the influencing factors of railway diversified business development.Based on the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of high-speed rail in China and Shanghai,this paper quantifies the development opportunities of high-speed rail in China and Shanghai,and determines the specific development direction of high-speed rail in China and Shanghai through the above-mentioned strategic breakthrough and development opportunities of high-speed rail in China and ShanghaiFirstly,based on the experience of diversified business development in the transportation industry at home and abroad,this paper combs the operation status,external resources,internal resources and capabilities of Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway.Through the analysis of strategic model tools,it is concluded that due to the changes of internal and external environment and the waste of resources caused by enterprises having a large number of unused resources,Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway can realize transformation through business diversification.Secondly,through the VRIO method,this paper analyzes the value,rarity,non imitation and organization coordination of the diversified development of Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway business,and determines that Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway can form a sustainable competitive advantage through the diversified development of business.The business of Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway is divided by Boston matrix,and its main business is determined as cash cow business.At present,its diversified business is problem business.Use Thomson Strickland method to judge whether it is suitable for developing the fourth quadrant strategy.For the Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway,the form of questionnaire and scoring is used to construct the internal and external factor analysis matrix.Through quantitative data,it shows that the internal and external environment of Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway is in a relatively strong position,and resources and capabilities should be tapped to realize transformation and development.Using SWOT analysis,this paper summarizes the situation faced in the development of Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway,and puts forward that Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway can adopt horizontal integration strategy,vertical integration strategy,cost leadership strategy,characteristic advantage strategy,collectivization strategy,brand development strategy,strategic alliance,refocusing strategy and other ways to realize its diversified business development.Finally,based on the above research and Thinking on the development strategy of Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway,this paper attempts to put forward specific plans for the diversified development direction of Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway business,including first,returning to the main business,expanding the transportation scale and business types,and developing railway freight and high-speed railway express business.The second is to provide more services for users by excavating the user value chain,so as to improve the reputation of enterprises and increase diversified business income at the same time.The third is to reduce the operating expenditure cost of enterprises by carrying out energy business,and promote the realization of low-carbon transformation of enterprises at the same time.So as to help the diversified development,transformation and high-quality development of Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway business.
