Research On The Development Of Regional Tourism Due To The Opening Of High-Speed Railway

High-speed railway occupies an unparalleled position in modern transportation due to its advantages of high safety and high speed.It can directly and effectively drive the flow of capital,personnel and information,and has played a great role in the economic growth of some areas along the railway line.Therefore,this paper selects the Guizhou-Guangzhou high-speed railway and the Nanguang high-speed railway as the research objects,to study the growth effect of the opening of the high-speed railway on the tourism industry in the Guangdong-Guangxi-Guizhou region,which has high academic research significance.More specifically,this article is divided into two parts: theoretical research and empirical analysis.In the theoretical research,this article summarizes the theoretical model mainly related to economic growth,the space-time compression effect of high-speed rail,and the theoretical model of the value of travel time savings,organizes the literature,and the opening of the high-speed railway is tourism in the area along the railway line Impact on the industry.In the empirical analysis,this paper selects the Guizhou-Guangzhou high-speed railway and the Nanguang high-speed railway as the research objects,and focuses on the Guangdong-Guangxi-Guizhou region.First,we use propensity score matching to match cities along the Guizhou-Guangzhou high-speed railway and the Nanguang high-speed railway with HSR,and then perform parallel trend analysis.The purpose of the test is to find controls that are as similar as possible to reduce bias in empirical inferences,and improve the accuracy of matching results.Secondly,the double difference method is used to explore the net effect of the opening of the Guizhou-Guangzhou high-speed railway and the Nanguang high-speed railway on the growth of the tourism industry in cities along the Guangdong-Guangxi-Guizhou route.Due to the different geographical locations and urban development levels of Guangdong,Guangxi and Guizhou provinces,this paper conducts a heterogeneity analysis.To prove the robustness of the experimental results,this paper adopted a method of modifying the matching strategy and described the variables to test the results.Finally,this paper further subdivides the impact of the opening of the Guizhou-Guangzhou high-speed railway and the Nanguang high-speed railway on the tourism in the Guangdong-Guangxi-Guizhou region into structural role,scale role and technology role,in order to explore the mechanism of the opening of the high-speed rail on regional tourism.Through the above theoretical and empirical analysis,this article believes that the opening of the high-speed train is a large exogenous shock,which improves the transportation capacity between regions,reduces the space-time distance between the two places,saves travel time,promotes regional economic development,and enhances the interactions and connections between regions.The opening of the Guizhou-Guangzhou High Speed Rail and Nanguang High Speed Rail will play an important role in promoting the overall tourism development of the city along the Guangdong-Guangxi-Guizhou route.Through the analysis of regional heterogeneity,we found that the opening of Guizhou-Guangzhou high-speed railway and Nanguang high-speed railway has significantly improved the accessibility between regions for both the developed eastern regions and the less developed western regions,driving the tourism industry of cities along the lines.Through the heterogeneity analysis of the cities,the opening of the Guizhou-Guangzhou high-speed train and the Nanguang high-speed train has proven to have a significant impact on tourism in first-and second-tier cities,and fourth-and fifth-tier cities.But has no significant impact on the tourism of the third-tier cities.In the robustness test,whether changing the matching strategy or replacing the described variables,the results show that the opening of the Guizhou-Guangzhou high-speed rail and Nanguang high-speed rail plays an important role in promoting the development of the tourism industry.This shows that the experimental results have passed the robustness test.In the mechanism analysis,the impact of the opening of the Guizhou-Guangzhou high-speed railway and the Nanguang high-speed railway on the tourism in the Guangdong-Guangxi-Guizhou region is significant in the scale effect and technical effect,but not significant in the structural effect.In light of the conclusions above,this paper offers the following policy implications: First,promote structural reforms on the supply side of the tourism industry.Second,to meet the travel and tourism needs of consumers.Third,improve the supporting services and facilities of the tourism industry.Fourth,develop a new format of "global tourism".
