Research On The Impact Of High-speed Railway About The Economic Development Of Cities Along The Line

At present,China's high-speed railway is in a period of rapid development.On the basis of "four verticals and four horizontals",a high-speed railway network with "eight verticals and eight horizontals" as the mainstay and supplemented by intercity railways will be implemented to realize the inter-city transportation circle and the transportation circle within the city group.It will realize the grand blueprint of the high-speed railway network.The development of China's high-speed railway has strategic significance for the development of cities.The opening of the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway has brought new opportunities and challenges to cities along the route.Many domestic researches are qualitative researches on the theory and policy of high-speed railway.This article studies the economy development of cities along the Wuhan-Guangzhou railway and analyzes whether the opening of high-speed railway has promoted the development of regional economy.Tinking about whether the gap between cities without high-speed railway and cities with high-speed railway is caused by high-speed railway.This article studies the impact of high-speed railway on the economic development of cities along the high-speed railway from the two aspects of GDP growth rate and industrial structure.First,it qualitatively analyzes the impact of high-speed railway on the economic development of cities along the high-speed railway,and then it conducts empirical research through econometric models.Using the panel data from 2005 to 2009 of 46 prefecture-level cities in the three provinces of Hubei,Guangdong,and Guangdong provinces to selecte the experimental group and control group by perform propensity score matching,and teste for equilibrium.Finally,establishing the difference-in-difference model to study the impact of high-speed railway on GDP growth and industrial structure by using data from 2005 to 2016.The research results show that the high-speed railway has no obvious promotion effect on the GDP growth rate of the cities along the route.The high-speed railway has a significant promotion effect on the industrial structure of the cities along the route.It has promoted the adjustment of the industrial structure and optimized the industrialstructure.Finally,putting forward relevant suggestions based on the research results and the current status of high-speed railway development to make high-speed railway play a role in the rapid and stable development of the economy.
