As the main artery of the national economy,railways play an important role in promoting economic development and serving society.With the rapid and prosperous development of China’s economy,the demand for transport has become increasingly strong.The railway industry is taking on increasingly heavy tasks.The railway works section protects the safe operation of trains.However,due to various reasons,the burnout phenomenon of workers in the section is also becoming more and more prominent.Therefore,it is important to study the burnout of railway section workers.Based on this background,this study selects the workers of the S railway section as the research object.Combined with the existing burnout research results at home and abroad,a quantitative questionnaire-based analysis study was carried out.A well-established,revised scale based on the MBI-GS was used,adding personal information of the workers and a combination of questionnaires based on three influencing factors: work,organisational and personal.Data analysis was carried out on the returned questionnaires using SPSS 23.The results of the analysis showed that there was a certain degree of burnout among the employees of the S railway works section.The emotional exhaustion dimension of burnout was the most severe.Burnout differed on demographic variables such as gender,age,years of service,average monthly income and job title.Correlation and regression analyses were used to identify the organizational factors affecting burnout among S railway section workers as pay and benefits,job factors as job stress,and personal factors as physical and mental conditions.This paper further proposes countermeasures to alleviate burnout:measures at the organizational level include optimizing the salary structure,improving the performance assessment system and enhancing the development space;measures at the work level include reducing work intensity,improving the work environment and strengthening corporate humanistic care;measures at the individual level include facing stress correctly,working according to standards consciously and paying attention to the physical and mental health of workers.It is hoped that the above measures will help to alleviate the burnout of workers in the S railway section.
