With the continuous advance of economic globalization,the pace of regional economy directly participating in global competition is accelerating,and scientific and technological progress has gradually become one of the decisive factors to enhance the regional competitive advantage of construction.The influence of the construction industry on economic development continues to expand.As one of the first innovative pilot cities in Northeast China,Harbin has entered a critical period in which science and technology lead construction and construction economy lead urban economic development.At present,Harbin’s economy is developing steadily,and the residents’ income is gradually increasing,and the comprehensive strength continues to increase.The industrial structure has been constantly adjusted and optimized,and various industrial structures have been constantly improved.At the same time,Harbin’s investment in science and technology is also growing.Based on the data analysis and understanding of the current situation of the construction industry in Harbin in recent years,the development of the construction industry is stable,and the capital input and output are increasing continuously,which has become the pillar industry of Harbin’s economic development.This thesis scientifically constructs the driving mode of scientific and technological progress in the construction industry to promote the continuous development of urban economy,and confirms that scientific and technological progress in Harbin’s construction industry affects the development of the construction industry by promoting innovation in the construction industry,thus promoting the economic development of Harbin.In this thesis,the Solow residual method is used to calculate the contribution rate of scientific and technological progress.It can be seen from the calculation results that the contribution rate of scientific and technological progress shows a trend of fluctuation and rise.The thesis further uses VAR model to make an empirical analysis of the contribution rate of scientific and technological progress of Harbin’s construction industry and the economic development of Harbin.Through the research and analysis of the above series of data and literature,it is clear that the scientific and technological progress of Harbin’s construction industry has a supporting role in the economic development of the city,but the degree is not large.Therefore,it shows that although the current science and technology of Harbin’s construction industry has a little role in promoting economic development.However,the promotion effect is not obvious and has a certain lag.There are still some problems in the scientific and technological progress of the construction industry,which need to be further improved.Finally,combined with the above analysis and the comparison with other cities,the thesis puts forward the problems faced by the scientific and technological progress of Harbin’s construction industry and the corresponding countermeasures.It has a certain reference significance for government departments to make scientific decisions.
