The construction industry is the pillar industry of Anhui Province’s economic development and has made important contributions to the economic and social development of Anhui. In the context of high-quality economic and social development in the new era,it is difficult to meet the development needs of the construction industry by simply relying on the labor-intensive mode of "low technology and low cost".Anhui construction industry, like the national construction industry,is gradually transforming and upgrading in the direction of industrialization, standardization and informationization. The shortage of highly skilled, high level and high quality construction workers has become a bottleneck that restricts the high-quality development of Anhui construction industry.Vocational training is an important means to improve human capital,a major way to improve the skill level of construction workers, and an important path to promote the transformation of traditional construction workers to construction industry workers. In recent years, administrative departments at all levels have issued a series of policies to deploy construction workers’ vocational training, and the investment in construction workers’ training in Anhui Province has been increasing. However,in the process of implementing training policies, vocational training of construction workers has not met the expectations in that some training programs are not carried out satisfactorily because of the low participation of construction workers.Willingness to undergo training is an important perspective in vocational training research.By studying the trainees’ willingness and exploring its influencing factors,we can provide the basis and inspiration for further optimizing training policy formulation and implementation.,To this end, this paper studies the current willingness of construction workers in Anhui Province to undergo training via literature review and questionnaire survey, and analyzes the key factors affecting construction workers’ willingness by using binary logistic regression model.Robustness check of the calculated results of the binary logistic regression model using the random forest model. The results indicate that more than 80% of construction workers were willing to undergo training, seven factors, including age, education level, skill level, job type, job satisfaction, knowledge of training policy, and prior training experience, all had significant effects on construction workers’ willingness to undergo training at the 5%confidence level, and that the type of employment company and monthly income had significant effects at the 10% confidence level.Based on the research results, this paper puts forward proposals for vocational training of construction workers in Anhui Province at four levels: government departments, construction enterprises, training institutions and individual construction workers.Firstly, government departments should further optimize and improve the vocational training policies of construction workers and increase the publicity of the policies.Secondly, construction enterprises should play the main role in the vocational training and tilt the training resources to young construction workers or those with low education level, who have low willingness to undergo training;Thirdly, training institutions should focus on the new requirements of construction industry modernization on the skills of construction workers, reform the curriculum system and maximize its adaptability and effectiveness. Finally, construction workers should create their career development plan, fully understanding the importance of vocational training and attaching importance to training opportunities, and actively participate in training.
