| Building Information Modelling(BIM)is a technology-driven technique that has been widely acknowledged around the world as a way to boost construction productivity dramatically." Due to the huge scale of Pakistan’s construction industry, which needs to enhance productivity to overcome recurrent issues such as project delays, planning inefriciencies, and resource waste,BIM is in high demand. The purpose of this study is to look into how Pakistani construction companies are using BIM,to gain a competitive edge.To collect and analyse data from 26 BIM experts,a qualitative research approach was used.Content analysis was used to analyse the interviews as part of the process. The study’s unit of analysis is the’construction industry,’ and the embedded unit is the ’individual employee.’ The construction sector in Pakistan is moving in th e right direction in terms of BIM implementation, but it lacks BIM understanding and does not grasp BIM as a set of needs. As a result,an industry-wide awareness-raising programme on BIM must be devised and implemented.Reorientation of existing education and training programmes is required.Furthermore,Pakistan’s construction companies would not be able to thrive if,they did not employ BIM.During the planning and design stages,BIM is commonly used.Client pressure, competitive pressure, the need to increase collaboration, and government pressure aure the four most critical reasons for BIM deployment. In this study, eleven difficulties were identified, with organisational culture o’f change being the most significant barrier to BIM adoption in construction businesses. Most changes inside an organisation will likely cause and expect some change in its existing culture and sub-cultures,according to change leaders. As a result, having a better understanding of the effects change has on an organization’s,group’s,or team’s subcultures will help change managers better comprehend the resistance to change and provide a more realistic strategy to managing it.Construction companies will profit from the development of a BIM implementation framework. It is recommended that Pakistani construction stakeholders, including the government and professional regulatory bodies, work together to ensure that BIM enablers, such as regulations and industry standards guiding implementation, are provided and strengthened to ensure that the industry is ready for BIM adoption. |
