Research On Construction Project Knowledge Managementbased On Emerging Information Technology

Along with the rise and prosperity of the knowledge economy era, knowledge management, as an important part of modern project management has attracted more and more attention. At the same time the increasingly complex engineering content, the increasingly high demand and widely involving areas, the traditional construction project management mode shows the disconnect between design, construction, materials supply and other management objectives. Moreover, the project participants in engineering practice has accumulated a large amount of practical experience and understanding, but the tacit knowledge is difficult to spread in the project organization widely, as is often tend to suffer with the loss of time and personnel. Nowadays, the theoretical circle has deeply researched on the integration of knowledge management and project management. The integration helps Help organize continuous improvement, reduce repetitive tasks, share the best practices and generate new technologies and new services. However, due to the particularity of construction project, there is a less successful knowledge management project implementation case.Based on the present situation of the construction project knowledge management, the paper achieves the knowledge flow cycle including knowledge acquisition and discovery, knowledge storage and integration, knowledge push and training, knowledge search and use, knowledge exchange and innovation using the emerging information technology like Internet of things, BIM, pervasive computing, and 4D visualization. This article put forward to the technology solutions that to support the implementation of knowledge management in different stages of the construction projects with the aid of emerging information technology and to improve the level of construction project knowledge management. BIM technology is the most closely associated with construction project knowledge management. It can provide the digital model of all construction projects information, which is a full construction project knowledge database. After the integration of BIM and the Internet of things, the Internet will record the data in the database provided by BIM and in the form of network interconnection. Pervasive computing context awareness makes the information model having more computing power and information characteristics, and achieves universal, collaborative and intelligent construction projects knowledge management. 4D visualization technology makes up the defect that construction project knowledge management is difficult to manage and monitor visually. This paper integrates and fuses the four kinds of emerging information technologies, which provides a solid technical support for construction project knowledge management. The integration improves the level and effectiveness of construction project knowledge management and promotes the knowledge acquisition, using, innovation and sharing which achieves the transformation process of knowledge to productivity. This paper provides a set of strong maneuverability and more perfect implementation plans to construction companies, but as the theoretical analysis and practical simulation, the research still needs more practice projects to verify in the future.
