| National policy documents such as the "Decision of the State Council on Accelerating the Development of Modern Vocational Education" and the "Implementation Plan for National Vocational Education Reform" emphasize the need to focus on innovative development of vocational education,thus posing new requirements for the level of vocational education.At the same time,in the teaching process of "Mechanical Fundamentals",there are common problems such as unclear course objectives,teaching content that does not meet students’ future employment needs,and teaching methods that cannot cater to students’ learning interests,which seriously affect the actual teaching effect of the course.Therefore,it is urgent to explore reform methods for the course,in order to accelerate the development of the course reform process and ultimately promote the improvement of students’ comprehensive abilities.In summary,this article has conducted research from four aspects:theoretical analysis,instructional design,web design,and educational experiments to explore the specific effects of the teaching reform practice of the "Mechanical Foundation" course based on outcome-based education(OBE)concept.The specific research content can be summarized as follows:(1)This article is guided by one of the core concepts in the field of engineering education,OBE,and several research methods like literature research,questionnaire,and interviews are adopted to understand the current situation and existing problems in the teaching of the "Mechanical Foundation" course in secondary vocational schools in China.Then the necessity of carrying out teaching reform based on OBE concepts in the "Mechanical Foundation" course in secondary vocational schools has been further demonstrated.(2)Based on the OBE teaching model proposed by Professor Richard,the teaching design of the course "Mechanical Foundation" is planned.Starting from the analysis of national,social,and job needs,firstly,the course objectives were reversely designed.Then,teaching content was reasonably selected based on the course objectives.After that,appropriate teaching methods and resources were selected.In further,the degree of achievement of the course objectives was evaluated.Finally,the teaching design for the course "Mechanical Foundation" was completed.(3)At the same time,Develop based on technologies such as HTML,CSS,and Java Script,combined with the OBE concept,the comprehensive web-based teaching courseware has been designed to support the teaching process and evaluation of the "Mechanical Foundation" course.(4)Based on the basic theoretical and practical framework,the educational experiment method is adopted to conduct teaching practice with a semester in a secondary vocational school in Guizhou province.A detailed introduction was described based on two teaching cases,including the teaching content of the mechanical gear wheel and the visit to the training laboratory.And the final comprehensive results and questionnaire survey results were statistically analyzed.The final results show that: first,the teaching reform based on the OBE concept has effectively improved students’ curriculum performance;Secondly,teaching reform based on the OBE concept can promote students to form a positive learning attitude;Thirdly,the teaching reform based on the OBE concept is effective,which it not only can help improve some of the existing problems in current teaching but also can provide some reference significance for the later curriculum reform in the field of mechanical design. |
