| Competition among enterprises has become increasingly fierce upon the development of economic globalization,innovation of information technology,differentiation of customer needs,and shortening of product life cycles.While in modern economic conditions,an enterprise is supposed to have cost and efficiency advantages throughout the supply chain to stand out from its peers.Thus,management and optimization of supply chains are quite critical for enterprises and popular with researchers.As an important part of reducing supply chain costs and improving supply chain efficiency,supplier management has become a hot topic for scholars and experts.supplier management directly affects product costs and delivery time,hence the operating cost and efficiency of the entire supply chain.Hunan Goldcup New Energy Development Co.,Ltd.(“Goldcup New Energy”for short),the research object of this paper,is a manufacturer of parts and components for new energy vehicles.Fundamentals including the company main business,industry status,purchased goods,supplier access procedures and supplier management status are introduced at the beginning,being followed by problems in the supplier management and reasons for the problems.Then it is proposed to establish a special department and formulate improvement schemes in respects such as classification of raw materials and suppliers,optimization of supplier access procedures and assessment criteria,improvement in procurement cost management and supplied goods quality management,optimization of delivery time management and supplier performance evaluation.In the final part of this paper,Goldcup New Energy’s supplier management measures are specified from perspectives of corporate structure,capability,information technology,and management system,etc.In this paper,a range of effective measures of supplier management are tailored for Goldcup New Energy,addressing some shortcomings in its previous management system.Meanwhile,improvement schemes for supplier management are proposed on the basis of the company’s actual operation and management.All those are expected to lay a good foundation for further improvement in the company’s supplier management. |
