| Since the publication of Kevin Lynch’s "Urban Image" in 1960,the theory of urban image has had a huge influence and has become an important basis for analyzing urban form and urban design. The core of this theory is the five aspects of urban image Analysis of elements(i.e.roads,landmarks,regions,nodes,boundaries)and construction of appropriate relationships to construct a dynamic city.Urban image theory and derived design methods still play an important role in contemporary urban design. With the rapid development of digital technology, technologies such as GIS technology, semantic segmentation, open source deep learning,human-machine collaborative scoring,Opencv and Baidu heat map data have been used in urban image research to a greater extent. The role of urban design and the improvement of the quality of urban design have brought more possibilities. In 2021,the researcher of the thesis participated in the restorative evacuation and reconstruction project of the courtyard in the Bell and Drum Tower area of Beijing Central Axis.In particular, the digital transformation and application of the urban image elements of the Bell and Drum Tower area have enabled the research results to be better implemented.Due to the different analysis angles of the five elements of urban image, there is no one digital transformation method that can cover all of them. Therefore, this study adopts one or more digital transformation methods that are suitable for each element characteristic of the five elements of urban image.Roads are analyzed using semantic segmentation and GIS technology, landmarks are analyzed using GIS and open source deep learning platforms, regions are analyzed using human-machine collaborative scoring and digital information collection and calculation methods, and nodes are analyzed using Opencv and Baidu heat map data For analysis, the boundary is analyzed using semantic segmentation technology;after the above-mentioned analysis of urban digitalization, combined with the situation of field research, the status quo of the five elements of urban image in the area is integrated and explained, and how to strengthen the indicators of the five elements of urban image Make suggestions for improvement. On this basis, the interrelationship among the five elements is analyzed, and the design strategy is put forward based on the analysis results.Through digital transformation and analysis,it is verified that the Bell and Drum Tower area on the central axis of Beijing is an urban image system with landmarks as the main body,in which the Drum Tower has a prominent and important position as the main landmark, and the Drum Tower and the Bell Tower together form a special combined landmark. Therefore,in this area, the other four elements should be created with prominent landmark elements,so as to jointly highlight the characteristics of the overall urban image.Under this concept, the urban design strategy of landmark priority should be adopted in the Bell and Drum Tower area, and it should be reflected in the courtyard renovation design. The innovation of the thesis lies in the overall research and exploration of the digital transformation method of urban image, pointing out that under the current technical conditions,it is not yet possible to adopt a completely consistent digital transformation method for the five elements of urban image, and it is necessary to adopt different characteristics according to its different characteristics.different methods of matching. On this basis, the overall digital transformation and analysis of the urban image of the Bell and Drum Tower area on the central axis of Beijing is carried out,and an urban image creation design strategy suitable for this area with landmark priority is proposed. This study uncovered a partial field of digital transformation of urban imagery, but still leaves a lot of unfinished work. With the advancement of digital technology, the research on the digital transformation of urban imagery will inevitably continue to deepen and improve, making it possible to establish a systematic urban imagery database and form a more refined urban design strategy to make the city more dynamic and distinctive. |
