| The fast growth of China’s economy has led to an expanding number of motor vehicles.Since the burgeoning of traffic demand has surpassed the currently available traffic resources.As the road intersection is recognized as the impediment of both the capability of road network traffic and the safety of driving,set up the left car lanes is an effective way to improve the intersection traffic efficiency,while the conventional way of intersection traffic organization in the very great degree has improved the intersection of resource utilization,But there has not been any improvement of the current traffic jam circumstance.As the organization of left-turn traffic was analyzed,it can be concluded that the spatial and temporal utilization rate of road resources can be significantly improved by applying the reverse left-turn variable lane.Nevertheless,when it comes to the process of concrete implementation,the insufficiency of scientific design and shortage of methods to manage the reverse variable lane can have a severe impact on the application in pragmatic engineering.In the academic field,most of the reversevariable lane design still uses traditional methods for quantitative analysis,and the lack of targeted optimization timing method seriously restricts the development and application of this new type of intersection design idea.To solve the problems mentioned above and to make improvement on the traffic efficiency of reverse variable lane intersections,this study proposed a signal timing optimization based on that particular kind of lane intersections.Assumes that the vehicle to obey the Poisson distribution,According to the characteristics of traffic operation,with the goal of maximum intersection and minimum average delay,a multi-target optimization model of crossintersection signal timing is formed,and builds the cycle length and signal length,lane length and degree of saturation,such as constraint conditions,and with the improved particle swarm algorithm and MATLAB programming.Select an intersection in Hohhot to analyze the operation effect of setting reverse variable lane under high,medium and low traffic and different left turn ratio.With the assist of the VISSIM software,the study obtained the simulation results of delay and queue length ahead and after the optimization,and then compared and analyzed.According to the study,not only can the optimal timing scheme proposed in this paper efficiently increase the capacity of reverse variable lane intersections,but it can also lessen the postponement of intersections when different traffic flows occur.Lastly,the scheme is relatively appropriate for busy traffic intersections.When the proportion of left turn at high-flow intersections is greater than 15%,the improvement effect of intersection traffic efficiency is more significant. |
