The Impact Of Artificial Intelligence On The Construction Of A Powerful Country In International Trade

Will artificial intelligence promote the construction of a Powerful Country in International Trade? This paper uses the robot data provided by the International Robot Federation(IRF),the China Customs Database,the China Industrial Enterprise Database,the China Patent Database and the UN-Comtrade Database HS 6-bit code product database to construct the highly detailed micro-enterprise data used in the study.The empirical test examines the impact of artificial intelligence on the construction of a Powerful Country in International Trade.The research results show that: ① AI has significantly promoted the construction of a Powerful Country in International Trade,and it is still significant after multiple robustness tests and causal identification considering instrumental variables;② AI’s promotion of China’s construction of a Powerful Country in International Trade is currently mainly concentrated in non-technology-intensive industries.Enterprises;③ In state-owned enterprises with good labor protection mechanism,the promotion effect of artificial intelligence on trade power will be weakened;④ AI mainly promotes the China’s construction of a Powerful Country in International Trade through two mechanisms:one is to promote trade competitiveness,The second is to change the global division of labor and improve the position of the global value chain.This paper will provide a new perspective for research on China’s construction of a Powerful Country in International Trade,and provide a directional and targeted reference for the formulation of artificial intelligence-related policies.
