Agricultural heritage contains multiple attributes including heritage, ecology, agriculture, culture and economy, which is an important resource for rural revitalization. The rich agricultural biodiversity, traditional farming technology system and unique ecological culture provide unique resource elements for the development of rural tourism.Tourism has gradually become an important tool to promote the economic development of agricultural heritage sites. It has also become an important way to dynamically protect and inherit agricultural heritage.Farmers,as the core stakeholder of agricultural heritage tourism development, are not only main owners of tourism resources, but also important providers of tourism services.Their supports and participation in the local tourism is a prerequisite for the development of agricultural heritage tourism. Therefore,a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing farmers’ willingness to participate in tourism development is conducive to further promote agricultural heritage tourism development.Taking the Shexian dryland stone-ridge terrace systems as an example, this paper discussed the enhancement path of farmers’ willingness to participate in the development of agricultural heritage tourism based on community participation theory, sustainable development theory and configuration theory.Firstly, the rooting theory is used to explore the factors affecting farmers’ willingness to participate in agricultural heritage tourism development.Six factors are explored, including farmer type, participation capability, place attachment, heritage culture inheritance perception, economic benefit perception, and policy support level.Furthermore, they are divided into four dimensions: family characteristics, emotional perception, benefit perception, and social support.Using fuzzy set qualitative comparison analysis, this paper obtained nine configuration paths, which were divided into four configuration models.According to the data analysis results, relevant suggestions are promoted to enhance farmers’ willingness to participate in tourism development of agricultural heritage sites. This paper is helpful to better understand the influencing factors of farmers’ willingness to participate in the tourism development of agricultural heritage, and also provides references for the sustainable development of agricultural heritage tourism.
