The theme of this thesis is the landscape design research of the Northern Forest Zoo from the perspective of double subjects. The relationship between human beings and animals has always been an ethical proposition worth exploring. In the new era, human beings must re-examine the relationship between them and realize the need for interdependence between human beings and animals. It is very important to deal with the relationship between the natural environment and human beings and animals. In human living environment, zoo is the most direct way for people to contact with various animals.A modern and scientific zoo must reflect this way of thinking in its landscape design.Born and raised in Harbin, the author has a unique and profound affection for Harbin Northern Forest Zoo.After consulting relevant materials,it is found that there is little literature on landscape design of the zoo, which is in urgent need of improvement. The Northern Forest Zoo in Harbin relies on the natural environment, has the unique geographical advantage, has the certain representability in our country zoo landscape design. The first, second and third chapters of the paper are the basic research of the landscape design of the Northern Forest zoo. They collect the research theories of zoos at home and abroad, analyze the design needs, existing values and defects of contemporary zoos, and deeply understand the actual situation of the Northern Forest Zoo and the development needs of Harbin.By combining geographical conditions, natural resources, regional economy and other factors,It also defines the different points of emphasis of landscape design from the perspective of tourists and animals. The fourth chapter of the paper starts from the perspective of tourists and deals with landscape design in a humanized way, aiming at giving tourists immersive experience and scientific and educational significance. The fifth chapter of the paper starts from the perspective of animals as the main subject, creating the living space closest to the original habitat for animals in the park, showing the daily behaviors of animals, and taking animal safety, animal abundance and other contents into consideration, realizing the remote protection function of wild animals. Finally,it will create a zoo landscape of harmonious coexistence between man and nature, both for tourist experience and animal welfare. Most designs in human civilization follow the principle of people-oriented,but the design of zoos should jump out of such thinking mode, and can not be limited to this. This awareness of the need to improve the quality of life of captive animals has led to the development of rich zoo landscapes, which in turn provide stimulation and enhance animal health,as humans gradually provide captive animals with the opportunity to truly express their species-specific natural behaviors and allow them to make their own choices. The evolution of consciousness to empathize with animals can be regarded as the cultural achievement of the whole human society.Human empathy under the influence of education is very different from pure charity. It must be patient to observe, interpret and evaluate the behavior of animals to form such ability. This paper hopes to use the landscape design research of the Northern Forest Zoo as a carrier to pass on such ideas.
